The key word in this context is "starting."
He says "Starting on Day One..." meaning that on his first day in office, he and his staff will begin working toward solving these issues. I believe they did that.
As opposed to "On Day One" which would mean he'd get it all solved on the very first day. Many folks are claiming this, but they're leaving out the key word, which makes a huge difference.

He started day one and 6th weeks later we have lower inflation - lower eggs - lower gas prices - Ukraine agreed to a cease fire and Canada lowered electricity costs and agreed to restructure our trade deal with them - on top of our borders being shut

It spiked hard late 2024 and into beginning of 2025 but it had been in the high 60s-low 70s for quite awhile.
