They were built by sore losers who wanted to remind black people that they were 2nd class citizens.
That still doesn't explain how they are oppressive. Again, I'll grant that it is easy to see why some (certainly not me) might find them distasteful, but they aren't oppressive in and of themselves. What is gained by their removal, other than some kind of psychological satisfaction for certain people?

How is this a reason to keep oppressive monuments?
How do monuments actually oppress people?

I see we have moved on to inventing our own history now.

In this case, it's a statue meant to make people feel like they are less important than others.
Incorrect.
Good grief.

Support. We can start with Chicago.

They don't. He's being ignorant on purpose.

The Lost Cause of the Confederacy isn't just a fancy name

It doesn't.
Tearing down Beauregard statue, while living in Beauregard parish on General Lee street while struggling economically is pointless to me.

Whoever looks at a statue and starts feeling less important has issues.

I just think the money being pissed away on removing them could serve a better purpose. But hey I'm just being logical here.
Posted on 8/15/17 at 10:36 am to TbirdSpur2010
So you're saying there aren't people who see these statues that are made to feel like they don't matter? Because society is celebrating these people who committed acts of rebellion against the United States in order to own other people?

Replace every one of them with monuments to Black people and I guarantee you that absolutely nothing changes in the black community.
Crime, poverty, unwed children, poor educations, illiteracy, unemployment, Not one damned thing will ever change.

NOTE: "Offensive" and "Oppressive" are not the same thing.

You just got done saying that people oppressed by monuments are little bitches. Are you saying we should give in to the demands of little bitches?

How will removing them get the black community out of it's never ending cycle of poverty and despair?
In all honesty, the black community will never end the cycle until they lower the illegitimacy rate to a somewhat reasonable number. 75% is unbelievable, undeniable, and easily correctable.

That isn't what I said. I said the guy claiming to be oppressed by MLK is a little bitch.

No, but you're throwing a fit when people try and take them out of the spotlight.
