I’ve seen COs get it when they retire or transfer to a new unit.

I haven’t and I've been in 27+ years. MSM's sure, but I can't fathom how any CO could get a Bronze Star for simply retiring or getting a new command.

Its like when tampon Tim mistakenly stated he was on the battlefield in a war. Sometimes you just forget stuff like that I guess.

The Fighter jockies who went to the Academy get some pretty prestigious ones. Talking the higher officer ranks.

But generally, a MSM is pretty high up there. Although we did meet an Airman with a MSM in Germany who was the designated driver four a 4 star at Ramstein.

How does an officer NOT have a bronze star for service these days?

Disgusting. If you engage in anything remotely resembling stolen valor, I have zero use for you. Presumably he has a copy of his DD 214. Although mistakes are sometimes made on that form, he would know whether he’d been awarded that medal. Also, as others have mentioned, if you win a Bronze Star, there is usually a “ceremony” however small that goes with it. Disgusting.

The Bronze Stat is the most abused medal in the military. Officers give them out among themselves liberally.

Good grief. And he did this for a Bronze Star for service (not valor).

The inflation of citations/medals is out of control. I would NEVER have thought of submitting anyone for a Bronze Star for service! I pray this lunacy has not infected the Marine Corps

What a dipshit… if you are going to award yourself medals, might as well make it a silver star. A non valor bronze star is nothing more than a glorified ARCOM. They handed bronze stars out like candy in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I like the majority of the Republicans... They aren't the ones trying to shove dilldoes up my a-hole and make me dress like a rainbow freak.

I once thought I had been awarded the Pulitzer Prize. Nope, was mistaken. Had to take the Lambo back.

Wolfie, am I needed to do some stolen valor research in this thread?

I can understand this. I have a couple deer heads on the wall that I didn’t kill. I know it’s stolen valor I just can’t help myself.

I can see maybe forgetting how many Good Conduct medals you might have or something similar, but claiming a Bronze Star mistakenly is pure nonsense.

I never served, but I'm pretty sure I could have snatched up some awards for onion and celery chopping and chopping broccoli.
