How does an honest freedom loving citizen have a chance

We're being fed BS by our Government and Media 24-7. The Educational system has been corrupted - it has become a social movement to change America from within. Your own children are against you in many cases, just like the old Soviet Union.
When a person goes against the narrative - like the woman who said she didn't want sexualized posters in her school - she was forceed to resign after pressure from the US Miliatary (WTF? why do they care?), or someone like Trump doesn't follow the script. Those that don't follow the narrative are beat down, punished and by example others learn their lesson - keep your mouth SHUT. DOJ, IRS, FBI have been weaponized against people who speak the truth.
Our government is bought and paid for by global business interest and foreign governments. We are not living in a nation where the government is of, by and for the people.
Media breaks us into warring tribes so there can be no united front against those who steal our freedoms. Black vs white, rich vs poor, Right vs Left. All the hatreds are stoked even when one moron puts out a stupid tweet.
I'm caught up in it, so are you. We need a miracle to recover from this.

That's all fine and good until you need healthcare, earn a few bucks, or have kids in school. I'm near retirement, so I'll be impacted by Social Security policies. If I had a few more dollars, I suppose I could say screw it - and pay the pound of flesh required and get on with my day.

But I am in the same boat as the OP.
And I am pondering your suggestion, having only a few more years to endure the end game and unsure of what difference it wwould make for me to make waves and offend people in my own family on the way out.
I am really torn - I have zero influence on matter large or small so all I can do is make small waves.
Actually - I need to apologize to the board - I fear that I am using it as a "dear diary" = putting down my most deeply held beliefs here because I don't give a shite about what most of the posters here think of me.
My own flesh and blood - a different story - I have to carefully gauge my words to make sure that upcoming family celebrations do not end up in a 'stare-off' between us. And I have zero influence on any of them now - except my 3 pre-teen great-grandsons. Fortunately, their mother is the most rational of the entire family, so they are in good hands unless I overturn the whole apple cart.
So, I just try not to upset those 3.
deeply conflicted here - this is not a good way to live.

You have raised them, now just hope for the best. The young have to choose the leaders and decide on their future. Unfortunately it won't be the country that we enjoyed but it's their choice. Be content.

I think the most calming and valuable time a person can spend in this wacky world is reading the Holy Scriptures……it works. Nothing has changed with regards to the human condition……I do think technology has complicated and captured society with a lot of false claims and false hope. My hope and belief is Jesus Christ will return as the Bible says and He will take His rightful place on His earthly throne and set things right.

Dude, you can't even do this anymore without government finding some way to frick with you. If it's not inflation, it's the regulations on what you can and can't buy or that you must do this or that now. They will tax us into oblivion.
And quite frankly, had people started standing up to this shite sooner rather than burying their heads in the sand as you suggest, we wouldn't be in this mess. It's people that just went along to get along that helped stir this whole pot of stew.

Youre screwed. She will be called racist and transphobic if none of them decide theyre or trans. Ideally one would be trans and gay. If youre black she will be called whatever the female verbiage is of an uncle tom but all the other stuff will stay in place.

Happiness is a decision, a state of mind. I live next to a massive blue hive. I'm deep behind the line in occupied territory. The events that are unfolding aren't new or original. The ideologies and decadence aren't new. The hardest skill to acquire is a positive attitude in the midst of decay. I concentrate on the positive and use sarcasm as a crutch.
