’d have a pretty diverse marketing team these days consisting of different races, genders, and political ideologies. You’d have to have that if your goal is to appeal to the majority of people
It isn't now though, anyone who this differently is evil, or racist, bigoted, sexist, mysoginistic, etc, etc. Anything different scares these pansies.

Of course not, because they live in a bubble.
Just like the people here who think everyone is outraged about it

That’s where I have a gripe. You sell fricking razors. Why do you think that there’s a social responsibility associate with that?
Exactly. A sharp edge on a stick to clip hair that grows. It’s the equivalent of a toilet paper company feeling compelled to chime in on social nonsense. Just because you make paper to wipe shite off assholes doesn’t grant you magical social importance

You'd think that move would have worked out terribly for them right?
Save for maybe gym shorts, I can’t think of too many of my white friends that buy Nike products. I’m willing to bet that black men are by far their biggest demographic. Hipster soyboys that don’t really shave anyway aren’t Gillette's target market.

And that 13% buys Nike religiously

I don’t think it’s a particularly good ad, but I think it’s silly to be outraged over what amounts to “don’t bully people and stand up for someone getting mistreated”

Liberals are so bad at appropriating memes and sayings.

The Nike Dream campaign was targeted at a certain market but still had fairly universal appeal...and it was executed beautifully. It didn’t have the negativity, the specific negative images of a demographic of potential customers, loaded political language, etc. Nike also has a long history of edgy marketing; Gillette does not have that and did not prime their customers in anticipation. Gillette executed horribly even if they thought their message was worthwhile and took a flamethrower to 100 years of brand equity investment.
Look at the language, imagery, tone, and so forth of the Nike campaign versus the Gillette bile. Night and day.

Maybe - but I can tell you that I threw out an old Nike shirt just the other day, It was in good shape, but I would not even give it to Goodwill.
Nike is a different story - you had people who were prone to buy their over priced shoes who would have been thrilled with their ad. so, on that basis they could actually benefit.
Gillette pissed off a lot men with no obvious offset in customer base.

People are defending the hell of it at the same time.
I don’t see it as AWFUL. It’s just the attacks on men are so prevelant now that a backlash is going to happen.

Why did they remove it so quickly, Mr. Lemon?

I’d like to, but they pulled it very quickly. Haven’t seen it in a while.

But the text message part? Really? This is toxic masculinity? It isn’t it. That’s not a part of the male’s bullying book. That’s the female’s. Anyone with a brain should have checked out then.

What is the ratio of upvotes to downvotes for the original video?

Do you think women were also outraged at this ad?

Who is more likely to bother to vote on such a video? People that feel neutral about it or a bunch of pussy snowflakes that are triggered?
I can't imagine ever giving a frick enough about a razor blade commercial to vote one way or another on it. You know why? Because I'm not a worthless piece of shite.

Yeah, I was slightly triggered by the Kaepernick campaign given that he did nothing to earn it, but here was my thought that made me get over it pretty quickly:
“‘Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything’?! What kind of a message is that. The biggest atrocities have been justified by that mindset. Where’s the precedent for this..... well ‘Just Do It’ is a total amoral message as well. I’m sure at Auschwitz that a SS officer once told his subordinate to ‘Just Do It’ when it came to flipping a switch on a gas chamber, so not uncharted territory for them. Oh well.”
