When you have frickin’ Al Roker and Carson Daily pissed off and talking about how insulting it is on morning shows, you know they started to sweat.

White women, gay black guys, one liberal Asian chick, and the token white pajama boy. None of whom use shaving products from Gillette.

The commercial was indeed suprising but not surprised that these were the people behind it.

Do you think women were also outraged at this ad?

Maybe not the raging feminists but you’re damn right there are women out there who were outraged by it. Any good Conservative woman would at least be a little put off by it.

Remember when everyone melted about Nike? I do and I don't think they're going away. Outrage is short lived

There's a big difference in getting CK with Nike and the Gillette ad.

Nike appeals to a larger consumer base that are also attracted to BLM and CK issue. It's a long standing build up and Nike hit it with the perfect shot.

Gillette completely missed the mark on this ad.

The ad had a half-way decent ending. HOWEVER, the entire thing lost me when the add, while discussing the problems of objectifying women, showed a rap video with... wait for it ... WITH ALL WHITE PEOPLE in it. At that point, I'm out

When someone says that something is "complex and layered" they just mean I think I'm smarter than everybody else and yall are too stupid to understand it.

I use an old safety razor of my grandfathers and move to it about 5 years ago.

I use Feather razor blades. You can get like 100 of them on Amazon for $22. A blade generally last me a week.

TSA did make me remove the blade one time so I carry a disposable razor in my travel bag now instead of my safety razor.

I just joined Dollar Shave Club. Easy Peasy with Paypal.

For the limp dicks who say "boycott's don't work", yeah. They do actually. I won't ever have to worry about buying shaving products again. Gillette won't see another penny of my money.

When you attack your very clientele just to appease a small segment of society that would never buy your products anyway.....you get what you deserve.

"Gillette opted to use Kim Gehrig, one of a new generation of directors showcased by the Free the Bid campaign, which attempts to hire more female directors into advertising. Again, with such paltry female representation across creative departments, Free the Bid is a noble and important venture. But Gehrig stumbles badly here."

The morons hired a liberal woman to write the ad...no wonder it failed.

Talk is now between cancelling SB ad altogether or putting out something to try to regain customers.

Screw you, Gillette. You let some idiot leftist who infests an office in your company blow up your business. The best way you can regain customers is to identify him or her, fire them, and out them. Then repent in sackcloth and ashes.

Spin won't work.

Yeah I questioned the racial aspect just a couple of pages back and thought some of you were being overly sensitive to racial matters. I hadn’t noticed the rap video upon watching the spot the first time. Mea culpa. I mean white rappers do exist but this seems like the creator going out of his way to avoid implicating a certain group.

Having said that, keep in mind the way you are feeling is the same way racial minorities have felt about media portrayals for many decades.

Obviously payback isn’t appropriate. I just think many on this board would/have mocked minorities for similar complaints.
