This board gets too stuck on if the equity was sold or not. By this logic, one would argue that it wouldn't matter if you had $10k in stock or $80k in stock at the end of the day as long as you didn't realize your gains or losses.

What he does gain is opportunity and, as you said, net worth. He gained the opportunity to realize a larger quantity of those percentage gains at a higher value, now and anytime in the future.

edit: Apparently the $415M is related to Trump Media, not a portfolio of his holdings or an investment firm of his, so this headline and article specifically is unrelated. It's just comparing one standard, non-holding company stock to the broader market as far as I can tell, which doesn't tell you a lot about any potential insider trading or knowledge. Disregard.

He did no such thing as “pump his stock”. I’m glad he made $415MM considering he probably lost more than that since the first of the year.

You act like he actually pocketed any money. It is all paper gains and losses for him.

At least he’s not living a billionaire life making $180k a year like most senators and reps.

Until Congressional insider trading is addressed, I don't give a shite.

Don't be obtuse.

He's saying that Trump's holdings did far better than the market yesterday, and the obvious conclusion is that Trump did so well because he knew before it happened that he would be delaying his widespread tariff rollouts. Same thing that congress often does with insider knowledge, except that he has far more control than any individual there does.

It sucks, but that’s what we get with Trump, and I’ll take it because there is no one else who would/could have done what he is doing.

What's comical about reports like this is that whatever his losses were the weeks prior will be mocked as evidence that Trump is a bad businessman while the upturn is reported as evidence of corruption. OMB whether his portfolio goes up or down.

Why do people think Trump is in it for the money? He was a Billionaire before he became president. He has been prosecuted, arrested, and almost killed and btw he donates his salary to charity. He is in it for a reason and its not about money. Now do Clinton, Obama, etc and see how rich they were before being President and after. Let's just say" The Swamp " pays well.

So he pumped a stock that not only bears his name but he has majority ownership in and once sat on the board of (now in Trust).

Isn't that his fiduciary duty to his stockholders?

And doesn't pump and dump only work with the dump?

OP = yet another retarded groomer that has no clue about economics, tariffs, or how stocks work.

Yet they are still damn proud of their ignorance and post this thread with the lying article anyway. Why? Because the people they associate themselves with are just as stupid.

Trump is a bad business man? He is a Billionaire. How much money do you make? Before you throw up the bankruptcy in his past sometimes it doesn't work out but yet he is still a Billionaire.

I can't understand why people care about this if the whole country is doing well. It would be one thing if it was soaring when the rest of the market was plunging, but that is not the case.
