How come nobody on TD is talking about how Democrats blocked Data Center Electricity bill?

If tweet fails to load, click here. HOLY CRAP! A Senate Democrat just BLOCKED legislation that would help ensure AI data centers pay their own electricity, rather than pass costs onto Americans — backed by Trump
This was passed by the House 417 to 3 last night!!
SEN. HUSTED (R-OH): I ask unanimous consent to pass the bill
SEN. HEINRICH (D-NM): Reserving the right to object...
SEN. MORENO (R-OH): I just want to make clear what just happened...all we had to do was not have an objection from a Democrat senator, that bill would become LAW TODAY and electricity users would've seen IMMEDIATE RELIEF. We did NOTHING because of DEMOCRAT OBSTRUCTION! This bill would've done something!
Heinrich whined that it "didn't do enough..." and by doing this, he ensured NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL.
Reality check: as a result of Democrats' objection, this bill is now STALLED in the Senate. If he wanted to "do more," he should've let this fly through, then filed to get more done!
President Trump's executive order on this needs to be codified!
Well, there you have it. The Democrats in the Senate just voted in direct contrast to the interests of Americans.

Because the Republicants don't want to win.

Welllll as bad as that is the rinos could have forced debate in the floor until they could pass it but nahhh, they want to go home and hate working

Republicans didn't block the bill. It was Democrats - it passed in the house by like 420 to 3 or something like that.. got to the Senate and dems blocked it

Sounds a like like Massie.
And yet, we still have "muh Republicans"...

Throw in a few billion for homeless Somalians and it would have landed on Trumps desk next week

And this is Trumps fault and we should all now go vote for the commies? Right??

They could be shouting from the rooftops that the Dims blocked a popular bipartisan House bill.
They could force the Dims to do a talking filibuster.

Democrats know this is how America wins. So, naturally, they're opposed. They can't have prosperity for their constituents.

Weird.
My best guess: Dems torpedo it now, without actually voting against it. Then if the D's take the House and/or Senate the bill comes back under their banner so they can take at least partial credit.

I’m glad it got blocked. These corporations are helping us and we have to chip in
We need these data centers to power flock cameras. Think how much safer we’ll be

Did you read the bill? No one tweeted it for you?

Useless bill not worth the paper it was printed on.

The bill requires state utility regulators and nonregulated utilities to consider implementing a standard to hold certain large-load customers responsible for the costs associated with any generation, transmission, or distribution upgrade of electric service necessary to serve such customers.

Follow the money......
The Rate Payer Protection Act does not apply to existing data centers and New Mexico is not one of the states that has already enacted its own regulations.

New Mexico ranks among the most active U.S. states for data center development, with 6 upcoming data center projects tracked. Combined project capacity totals 8.3 GW, with total construction expenditure of $247.4B (ranging from $70M to $165B per project) and an average investment of $41.2B across hyperscale campuses, colocation facilities, and enterprise deployments.

The billionaire data center owners don't want to be shortchanged of their profits...he's evidently representing them...how much did they pay him for his support?
