The only metric by which we had it easier is your assertions. You can show no data.
It’s common knowledge at this point, if you think everything is the same now as it was for you then you’re being willfully ignorant.

Boomers have a really hard time understanding they grew up in a time of unique circumstances that allowed for major economic growth (post WW2 peace).
They like the fancy themselves uniquely talented and accomplished in history.

Vote yourself a raise. Find a candidate that prioritizes lower taxes and government spending that will help lower inflation. Keep more of your money.

ichleau This Boomer started out making $2.10 per hour. 30 years later I made $42k per year and bought a house, got an advanced degree. This poor arse planned and educated myself properly. I have plenty money to retire on and Im not retirement age. It can be done. (I didn't get married or have kids).
Getting ahead has never been easy depending on you resources. My parents bought a house they could barely afford and thought they were going to lose that house a few times over the years. They paid $28k and sold for $540k 32 years later.
None of this is new.

True, when the reality is they financed their lives with debt and now younger generations are left holding the bill.

You understand the median home 50 years ago is nothing like the median home today, right?

No they don’t. They just don’t think zoomers are uniquely underprivileged/over challenged.
The victim culture has crippled too many.

They’re wrong, and all available data proves they’re wrong. They prefer to keep their heads in the sand and pretend that no one is struggling and the economy is the exact same as it was 50 years ago and nothing has changed.

What point do you think you’re making here?

Yes sir. That’s why I support Vivek. He’s really the only one with a balls out domestic policy approach. He really gets it to be honest but every time I tell people about him they just scoff without doing any investigation of his policy on their own. It’s honestly a bit maddening but also understandable considering the current situation we are in.
We can still get out of this death spiral and by reducing taxes and giving our energy sector a major boost and step forward by drilling and going the nuclear route, grow our way out of major problems we will face in the future.
It’s possible and I think it will happen.

What’s worse is if people are struggling it’s their own fault because “lazy” “entitled” etc etc. there’s zero introspection and when you attempt to shine the mirror they recoil. It’s very frustrating.

A good point?

Unfamiliar with him but will read up. Edit: Ah, Ramaswamy. Need to educate myself but at least I’ve heard of him.
Keep your chin up, man. Hardest part is making a decision on what you actually want. Not what you think you want but what you really want. Once you do that it drives your decision making.
If someone prioritizes life experiences like eating out, vacations, etc. then that’s fantastic. But it makes it hard to save for a house. Vice versa.
Good luck

Literally nobody believes this.

No, it doesn’t. Not for the economically literate.

People have always struggled. And in the US, if you legit struggle to keep a roof over your head and food on the table, it’s most often your fault.

Ever thought it’s you?
Like the stone guy wanting to believ that graph proves his point. You guys have been gaslighted to hell and you think it’s everybody else that’s wrong.

It’s a pretty simple graph to read.

Do you believe “median home” in terms of size, finishing and amenities has not changed over the last 50 years?

Says the guy trying to compare the 1975 median home to the 2023 median home.
