Yeah Gumbo posted this from a guy who is pro Palestine.
All you got to do is read his x feed. This bill is an add on to an existing law. It's all about IGOs, international governmental organizations.

Jew here. This is easily the most unconstitutional Bill in my recent memory. Boycotting would be a crime?
I guarantee you this is coming from an evangelical or a Jew politician with dual citizenship.
Google United States politicians with dual Israeli citizenship. That alone should be illegal.
We are Americans. Sure I support Israel, but the Zionist influence on our Congress goes against our national interest. America first my arse.

This bill was introduced in Jan. And it's not what the DR is saying it is.
This bill expands an existing anti-boycott law to include certain boycotts imposed by international governmental organizations (IGOs).

I worked for SC Johnson during Jesse Jackson and his nonsense in South Africa. Had a big dinner and I sat next to the guy who USED to run our plant there.
We paid same wages for blacks as whites. We had to sell the place due to the nonsense, for a song. New black owners promptly cut the wages of blacks by over 50%, fired a bunch more, and the company went out of business.
Yeah go ahead support boycotts organized by "ngos" and other govts, particularly the UN they are such an unbiased bunch, its a great idea.

Exactly why we will never know the true depth of Epstein's evil or who facilitated JFK's assassination.

I don't understand. How would I boycott Israel? Refuse to go there for a vacation? Refuse to buy bagels?

By the looks of the board lately, the jihadists have won the minds of the Americans on this board.
i am pro-Israel, mildly pro-zionist, completely anti-Hamas, and mostly indifferent to the Palestinian people other than the dignity of being people made in God's image. They don't deserve all their treatment that they get from Israel, but most of their pain in self inflicted.
I still think Israel is a manipulative a-hole.
Just because they are the least bad ME nation doesn't make them good.

Being stupid is a requirement to work in US government.

For a party supporting a president that’s constantly accused of ignoring the constitution, the GOP sure does do some stupid fricking shite. Hopefully they vote this down quickly.

Texas has a law that prohibits certain entities from boycotting Israel. Enacted in 2017 as House Bill 89 and amended in 2019 by House Bill 793, the law is codified in the Texas Government Code, Chapter 2271.

The issue I see are things like this thread. Literally, this is a law on the books and the only change is for (using the exact wording from the Bill):
This bill expands an existing anti-boycott law to include certain boycotts imposed by international governmental organizations (IGOs).
The only thing that guy and those posting things like this are wanting is more anti israel and pro hamas.
It's why he's not being honest in his X feed.
Now, since this has been a law, how many people have you seen arrested for "boycotting Israel"?
In fact, where the hell doe the bill even state or use the word ISRAEL?
Here it is:

Introduced in House (01/31/2025)

GumboPot, you’re either an ignorant dumbarse, or a lying anti Israel bigot and antisemite. I suspect both.
This is the bill in summation since you apparently didn’t read it in your urgency to spread disinformation against Israel.
This bill expands an existing anti-boycott law to include certain boycotts imposed by international governmental organizations (IGOs).
Current law prohibits various actions by U.S. persons (individuals or entities) in relation to boycotts imposed by foreign governments on a country which is friendly to the United States and that is not itself the object of a U.S. boycott. This bill applies those prohibitions to similar boycotts imposed by IGOs.
Prohibited actions include (1) refusing to do business with companies organized under the laws of the boycotted country, if the refusal is pursuant to an agreement with or request from the country or IGO imposing the boycott; (2) refusing to employ any U.S. person on the basis of race, religion, sex, or national origin; and (3) furnishing information about whether someone is associated with charitable or fraternal organizations that support the boycotted country.
The bill also requires the President to annually submit to Congress and make available to the public a report describing these boycotts and listing the foreign countries and international organizations involved in fostering or imposing them.
It doesn’t affect Americans or American businesses.
So feel free to boycott whoever you wish and tell lies because they are your constitutional rights. God bless America!

I can read that Congress is spending time to protect Israel instead of the million things they could spend time on doing things to help America.

Jim, this bill is not what the OP is saying it is.
