As for Trump... Focus on policy. Who gives a crap what race Kamala calls herself this week? Who gives a crap if the press says your rallies have empty seats. WHO CARES? What policies do those two things affect in the least? Hammer away at policy (he does do this, but also tends to stray) and you SHOULD sew this thing up by the middle of September.
