The reality of the situation is eventually democrats will make a deal and take control, we won't go speakerless forever. It's a infinitely stupid strategy.

Sure make a stand, the accomplishment unfortunately is the outcome gets worse and worse and worse, if you are a conservative American.

That is a very sad commentary on the board quality.

Thank you

Yes, but it is a genuine compliment on the content you offer sir.

Goes both ways, Bill.

If Jordan et all wins the speakership, he would be in a position to toss GOPe who didn’t back them.

Emmer isn't winning unless the Democrats pile on the vote tally for him.

does the article mention the democrats pushed him through?

No.

It just means the GOP has a majority of vote to nominate him for Speaker. It will however be interesting if the Dems are allowed to fracture to get Emmer into the Speaker chair which would be a total disaster.

More likely they would just not vote/show up to lower the threshold.

To be honest, I am for ANYTHING that keeps the Fed Gov deadlocked. I hope we go the entire term without a speaker!

“But, we can’t get any legislation passed or authorize funding for Israel and Ukraine until a speaker is in place”

“ So, you are making my point for me!”

In theory I'm with you. But there are going to be real problems that arise from this and being only a year out from an election probably isn't going to help things. Voters that don't like the dems aren't being given a reason to trust the republicans. Do they go with the devil they know in the dems or the devil they don't know with the republicans?

The timing of this just sucks.

I second that emotion.

Government should be like a good anti-Virus on a computer.

A good anti-virus ONLY works when you need it to.

It doesn't wrap it's gdamned tentacles around everything, slowing and freezing up with every mouse click.

It allows the USER to work and flourish unfettered.

Another crash and burn for America First/ Cult45.

This is just sad. Trump gave us his boy McCarthy and now Gaetz gives us this clown from Minnesota.

This is a fricking disaster.

Sounds good.

Lawmakers are eager to get back to work, with many wanting to pass aid to Israel and address a looming government funding deadline next month
Is this supposed to make me worried that there is no Speaker yet?
