he ag worker visa program is not the problem, addiction to slave labor
People want cheap stuff and cheap labor is a big part of that
Take away the cheap labor from agriculture and the fresh market will feel the squeeze and be forced to raise prices. The work visa program is not the answer.
I have zero problem with a willing and able illegal coming here to work on my farm…

Yes, cheap labor is one factor in keeping food prices low. Food prices are artificially low if they depend on illegal employment practices. Americans have been spending less of our disposable income on food over the last several decades. The world will not end if we have to pay actual market rate for strawberries, rather than subsidizing them through the cost of illegal workers. Exactly how much do you pay your farmworkers? Hourly or piece rate?

Those numbers don’t make sense.
100k beds for the price of multiple football stadiums?
This is just a slush fund for govt.
I thought you guys loved small government.
Also the trend is always beg immigrants for help then when the work is done kick them out.
It isn’t godly.

It was happening via a green card program of workers invited in to work, earn, then go home, rather than some guy who crossed illegally with two Abuelas, a wife, a girlfriend, and seven kids who expects ME to work three jobs to cover those people
No.
The work visa program is not equal. It’s burdened by beaurcracy and higher wages than even the minimum wage. It also requires housing for the workers. Bottom line- it’s expensive and burdensome
“Illegal” labor is a far better source of labor

Where’s the money for the big beautiful wall?
You mean the money already allocated to build the wall, the one that is mostly complete and has slowed the the illegals entering the country to a crawl?
Not sure what your point is.

That's a whole lot of albeit necessary money to clean up the previous administration's mess.
