When the NFL comes back the ratings will be through the roof and 95% of the people that upvoted will be sitting in front of their TV giggling.

I’ve probably watched 4 NFL games from start to finish over the last 5 years.

League is terrible

I'm as big a fan of the NFL as anyone. I think I would be able to get over everything so far since I love it so much. My breaking point will be what happens week 1. If we see everyone stand for the "black national anthem" then kneel for the national anthem I'm out.

I know it's been huge talk before and the nfl has still reeled in huge numbers but this time it's different. We've gone how long without sports now? A lot of people are realizing it's not that important. We've already found other stuff to do with our time. The decision to stop watching isn't as daunting as it was before.

I have several downvotes, yet no one is disputing how hypocritical it is that we stand against cancel culture, yet we want to cancel the NFL.

This isn't cancel culture. This is choosing not to partake. My definition of cancel culture is whining and doing everything in your power to get someone fired.

Extreme example but this is more along the lines of a buddy bitch slapping his wife. I'm not going to run to his boss and demand he be fired. I'm going to choose to never associate with him again.

Cancel culture is trying to get ford to stop making vehicles for police officers. In that example, not watching the NFL is the equivalent of those same people just quitting their jobs and going work somewhere else. That's the difference.

These people want the world to change for them instead of them changing the way they do things.

We haven't watched NFL for 4 years, actually got rid of cable then as well. We were basically down to LSU sports but that's probably not going to happen now either.

If the Saints make the playoffs I’ll watch that. Otherwise I won’t be watching

I’m unwilling to let football be replaced by a hypocritical political statement.
NFL killed my interest in their product when it became clear that outcomes of key games might be predetermined, that blatantly bad calls and consistently bad refs were met with official winks and aw shucks smirky excuses. The political stuff and SJW people have cemented my complete loss of interest. Political football is not the same as football.

Sad to say but I think the stadiums will be full because people just don’t care and are willing to stick there head in the sand thinking this will just go away on its on.
It’s both sad and ironic that one day there will be no more football, basketball, etc. There will only be whatever the state deems acceptable if any “sports” will be allowed at all.

I know we are a very small segment here and the vast majority of us are like minded. However, if the voting here is indicative of anything, it will be damning for the NFL. Currently 917-103. So 90% boycott. If the NFL loses 70% of their viewership, it would certainly open their eyes and likely get Goodell fired. 90% may stand a chance of killing the entire league, or at least a few organizations.

The sample is certainly skewed and off base. By no means, anything remotely scientific.

But, this is a sports forum at its hearth and if you get a fraction of 90% (say 20%) loss....that hurts.

Yeah I love America. But football is the one thing I truly love more. It's the only thing that gets me through my shitty accounting job in the fall working 60 hours a week at deadline time. I'm gonna watch because it entertains me. I will just mute the tv anytime some bullshite comes on. Hell my dad already mutes the tv anytime some bullshite woman sideline reporter starts talking about something useless

Look at your tally, not hurting the NFL at all.
