She has 100% enjoyed an easier route.

I think a lot of your posts are ridiculous, but your points about her ability to hone in on things that many of us would have to do while juggling jobs, finances, etc. is absolutely true.

She's lived a charmed life and has the time and resources to do things like pursue a fashion line. It's moronic to pretend that's directly comparable to the average person making their way into the business world.

But, it's fair to say that while also recognizing she's an accomplished person who would probably be accomplished on a different scale even if not given the assistance of a celebrity name and bank account.

He's not wrong. If your point is that she should be partially commended for not being lazy and wanting to make a name for herself, that's a valid point.

But it doesn't counter anything SS said.

Ok, maybe her Mom should write a book on living as a low income mother.

Michelle can write one as growing up as a lower income child.

But she has about as much of an idea about the life of a working class Mom as I do.

but some groups experience more negative stereotypes and discrimination than others

Wrong! Look at Ivanka in this thread. Wealth, health, intelligent, educated, young, pretty, hard working, and yet she is not good enough to be a role model for "working women"! We are all in a group that someone has a negative stereotype of!

If two men were trying to get dates, and both were short, fat, bald, stuttered, wore glasses, and were poor, would it really matter if one was a member of a group that is traditionally more discriminated against?

We all have problems to overcome. And we all have advantages.

A poor black boy from a strong loving family has a tremendous advantage over a rich white boy from a disfunctional family.

Really?

I don't really follow that closely, especially now that she has left the white house.

What are/were her accomplishments?

All you need to know about Ivanka is that if she were a Democrat, liberals would love her and tout her one of the best role models for women in this country.

Not coincidentally, that also tells you all you need to know about liberals.

That kind of says something about ardent Trump supporters too, doesn't it?

I bet there are more rich kids who did nothing with their lives than there are rich kids who have accomplished the things Ivanka has.

that doesn't mean her accomplishments are that great.

Did she have a leg up? You bet, but she did what truly successful people do, and took advantage of what was available to her. No need to idolize her, but no n eed to downplay her life either.

She did start a successful business, but again so what? I have much more admiration for someone who went from $0 to $2M than someone who went from $100M to $1B (which I don't think she did).

Give me an example of what you consider a 'working woman'? I have never seen a female coal miner, construction worker, plumber or electrician.

If you're talking secretaries, baristas and 3rd grade teachers...those are not physically nor mentally more challenging than what Ivanka does.

Wasn't she the one that flew coach and was harassed by Prog Filth for doing so?

Yeah. STFU

This.

She takes what she's given and works her arse off to improve it. She doesn't need to but she works anyway.

That's a product of good parenting and a strong personality.

Also, she's finer than frog hair.

What does it say about them? THe point is the left loves strong, smart , independent women, as long as they are pro abortion card carrying liberals.

As a secretary, I can guarantee her job is way more mentally taxing than anything I do.

This goes back to StrongSafety's argument.

I don't think those jobs are particularly challenging either.

But being a secretary while also raising kids, struggling to pay a mortgage and save for college and pay for sports teams and computers and new tires and a new furnace is, overall, more challenging than a woman who never worries about finances or child care or transportation having a more difficult job.

I don't agree that it's more challenging. However, choosing to way exceed your means and then struggle to meet the unrealistic goals you expect is very challenging.
