fake invoices to cover the payoffs, right?

Why would they need fake invoices?

They have the actual checks.

I would say today was not a win for Honest Bob and the Dems.

He did bring down their average conviction rate, but if this was baseball .444 would be pretty good, so that's nice.

Trouble is, he absolutely did implicate Trump when he stated under oath that he was directed by Trump to facilitate the payments.

Does everyone agree that Honest Bob will turn this over to the FEC now? Shouldn't he?

Prosecutor was incorrect or referring only to the earlier charges against Cohen. Cohen implicated Trump today under oath

I think we can put this thread to bed

quote:

“Today he stood up and testified under oath that Donald Trump directed him to commit a crime by making payments to two women for the principal purpose of influencing an election,” Davis’ statement read. “If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen, then why wouldn’t they be a crime for Donald Trump?”

Did that guy just say...."equal justice under the law".....? Did he literally just say that!?!? After the Hillary server debacle?

I was trying not to vomit in my mouth the entire time when he was saying that Cohen is a lawyer who should have known better and isn't above the law. No one is above the law.
You know who else is a lawyer, should know better, and shouldn't be above the law? Most of these frickin politicians, including Hillary and Bill.
He was making me sick.

Facilitating payments isn’t against the law.

Directing Cohen to facilitate those payments by committing fraud and campaign finance violations would be against the law.

Those are two very different things.

Lanny fricking Davis

If there’s a disaster in US history since 1992, Lanny fricking Davis or Jamie Bitchass Gorelick are standing right next to it.

So few questions.

Is it illegal to pay people and have them sign NDAs?

I thought this was standard operating procedure in campaigns.

Are NDAs illegal?

Did the funds come from the campaign or from Trump?

This is politically damaging for Trump but legally sounds like a bit of a stretch.
