i wonder if a) they asked and received permission or b) perhaps that school has a different policy
Serious question.
Do you believe that if the ONLY difference here was the sign being a prominent Democrat instead of Trump that the board would have said jack shite?
Be honest here. It's good for the soul.

However, the spokesperson said the sign violated a school board policy that prohibits the distribution of political campaign material at school events or school publications.
I guarantee you we can go find obama and Clintons signs around campus and no punishments

One more time. It was the state athletic association.
Whoops. I'm guilt too.
So, to my earlier question.
Does anyone think the state athletic association says jack shite if the ONLY difference in this story is the sign from Trump to a prominent Dem?

actually the state athletic association. So there’s literally dozens of examples where they did nothing when school dance teams or cheer teams were overtly involved in politics as “representatives” of the school.
Lol
Post the ones that were at school events: plays, sports, dances, etc.
Just one.

I already did.
You’re claiming a dance team could perform for a political event in uniform but couldn’t stand in front of a sign in uniform.
It’s a weird hill to die on.

Were they distributing it or merely holding it?

Imagine the outage if cheerleaders had been put on probation for posing with an Obama sign.
They would have been rewarded with a high school Nobel peace prize.

If only they had taken a knee. Then they could be on Jimmy Kimmel and GMA.

Stanly County Board of Education policy bars political advertisements on campus or at school events, according to the statement on Aug. 31 . The district also said it does not make political endorsements.
“This policy does not prohibit students from speaking their minds or engaging in protected First Amendment activities,” district officials said in the release Monday. “Because the cheerleaders were in uniform and were acting as representatives of the school, the display of the sign could be perceived as the school or school system endorsing a political campaign.”
The cheerleaders were not punished by the school or district, but officials have asked them not to display the sign again, the district said.
