It is as dumb an assertion as the proposition that today's Blacks are somehow responsible for weakness in their forebears' civilization which opened the doors to their capture and enslavement.

Similarly it should stand to reason, "white people" are responsible for the 10-to-50-fold increase (obviously far far far more in Korver's case) in median income compared to that which Black Americans could expect if they were still west African inhabitants; i.e., had their ancestors never been dragged in slave-chains here.

None of which excuses past atrocities. But it is what it is. Factually, Americans of any color are significantly better off than are SubSaharan Africans .... past-present-or-future.

This is a concept that gets far too little attention.

Slavery was a manifestation of the inherent evil in human nature that if not stymied will manifest itself.

BUT - 150 years after the evil has been eliminated, modern blacks should look back on the suffering of any slave ancestors they had as a source of pride - that they were strong enough to overcome the most evil thing any cohort of humans ever had to experience.

If they cannot appreciate their current situation - being in the proverbial land of mild and honey - especially being FAVORED in every aspect of domestic society - then should voluntarily deport themselves to their ancestor's homeland and prove to all that they could survive just fine without 'whitey' interfering in their daily lives.

I have zero sympathy for any modern black moaning about 'muh slavery' being the cause of their current unhappiness, and am actually antagonistic to anyone who demands 'reparations' for what their ancestors went thru.

My namesake ancestors were forced off their land in the highland clearances and came to America as indentured servants - I look at that as a source of pride in that I come from a hardy lineage. Of course they intermingled with others of my lineage that had been here starting in the mid 1600's - all but one of whom came not as privileged status, but as hard-working settlers and colonists, mostly gaining the cost of passage by indentured servitude. .

Yes, we are responsible for stuff our great, great, great, great grandfathers did. In fact, I just learned my great, great, great, great grandfather smuggled liquor and never got caught. Thus, I'm gonna turn myself in and serve his jail sentence that he never served.

The democrats are so far off the mainstream path right know I don't see how they can veer back to the center with any credibility. All the strides African Americans have made in the last 50 years will be for nothing if they keep this insane push up.
