Here's why Democrats are holding their fire as Trump's world falls apart after the Mar-a-Lago search
During a panel discussion on CNN's "Inside Politics" on Sunday morning, it was noted that Democratic lawmakers are remaining, for the most part, very subdued in their attacks on Donald Trump in light of his burgeoning legal problems after the Department of Justice sent FBI agents armed with a warrant to his Mar-a-Lago resort.
With the walls closing in on the former president as he faces DOJ scrutiny, a House select committee investigation, multiple civil cases in New York City, and a special grand jury in Georgia looking into election tampering, CNN host Phil Mattingly asked the Washington Post's Leigh Ann Caldwell why Democrats aren't piling on.
"You are very well-sourced on the Democratic Party on Capitol Hill," the host prompted. "I have been kind of interested to watch how Democrats have responded to date on this. It's been a little more cautious and I think they think it's damaging and not a good thing in any way, shape or form."

What is more likely, Trump’s collapsing and the Dems are holding fire or the Dems fricked up BIGLY and are trying to come up with a good NPC script that gives them a win?

Dems are holding their fire?? Walls closing in??
There really is an alternate universe these folks inhabit.
If Trump were to return to the White House I’m convinced some of these people would off themselves a la the Heaven’s Gate cult.

Cnn legit uses it’s an opinion when faced with defamation lawsuits. They are telling you they don’t report the news. Just their opinions.

DC isn't known for being the home of multitudes of politicians who exert constant and deep levels of self-control. What they are known for, however, is for jumping on anything and everything they think can help bolster their image.
If Democrat lawmakers aren't jumping on the MAL raid as a vehicle for condemning Trump, it's far more likely because they know (or at least fear) it was done on an incredibly shady premise than for any wise foresight. What's far more likely is they are worried about being on the wrong side of this and are simply waiting for something more concrete to come out before moving in a direction on this.
The latter is the more likely, but their silence implies something very interesting: that many members of the Democrat machine in DC have no idea whether this was a legitimate event or a weakly hidden political fishing expedition.
DC leaks and it leans Left. For many Democrats who are long-sitting and still current members of Congress to not know (especially not know the terms of the affidavit confidently enough to make a strong statement one way or another) is bizarre in its rarity.

Lots of chatter on the Sunday shows and elsewhere that a LOT of Democrats are not OK with this Trump raid. They know full well the pendulum could be swinging the other way....maybe sooner rather than later and there will be payback for this.....Trump didn't go after Hillary when he took power though he could have easily done so.

Trump will never be arrested. The dems will just continue with their investigations to rile his base, forcing him to run.
Trump in the general is the only chance they have of winning 2024.

LOL... ANOTHER possible reason for the silence from sitting democrats could be they want distance from the situation. Any person with a pulse and basic functioning brain can conclude this will have same results as every witch hunt before it.
