For what purpose?
Regime Change.
You can’t have it both ways.
If Maduro leaves without a shot being fired, will you still complain about "regime change?" If Trump replaces a communist leader in our hemisphere who released gang members into our country without a single loss of US life, will you give him credit for the foreign policy win?
You'll still bitch even though he made our region safer with no casualties, won't you? Because your principles of doing nothing are more important than actual successes. Rational people would look at the success and take it, not bitch because they wanted things to stay in a worse condition.

Well of course we are pushing her and in many ways protecting her. Again, no boots on the ground and of course it’s a quid pro quo. That being said, removing authoritarian government and creating stability is paramount to financial success and liberation for the Venezuelan people as well. We aren’t dealing with dirty Muslims. We are dealing with predominantly Catholic people and moreover, on our side of the world.
No American death, liberation of subjugated Christians and opening up the world’s largest oil reserves. This can only benefit all involved. Oh, not to mention the scores of death ushered in via drug trafficking fentanyl.

We are fricking doomed.
So I take it you aren’t a fan of Trump’s policies on trade?
Look, I recognize Trump is what he is: a devotee of BIG GUBMENT and massive spending bills and in that respect is no different than the reigning GOPe that so opposed the emergence of a populist MAGA movement as a force in American politics.
Yet unlike the neocons in the GOP, I do believe Trump has demonstrated he is willing to accept that we are now living in a multilateral world and the era of the United States serving as a global hegemon are over.
Again, the Trump Administration making this announcement and actually accomplishing it are two different things. Yet we can at least dream, can’t we?

We are the world's largest energy producer. We don't really need Venezuela's oil.

Drug boats are the new weapons of mass destruction
In if you mean destruction of the pussification of the woke America, you are hoping for, then yes it is. The idiots on the left now side with criminal drug boats instead of protecting Americans from drugs. Any president other than Trump and this is a nonissue.

Yes we do. Supply and demand. It’s simple economics. You know what else helps? Breaking up authoritarian control and increasing production. It helps the region tremendously and prosperity is good for all.

Would Machado be a tremendous improvement over Maduro? I certainly would assume so.
Yet where do her loyalties lie? Is she she a nationalist or a globalist?
We simply don’t know. I do know that my inclination is to be suspicious of anyone who is the darling of the Oslo crowd or receives bipartisan praise from the permanent Potomac reigning class:

Yet here you are, crying like a little girl! Whimper more bitch!
Now? See how that works?
I am here to make friends, and if not friends, frenemies. Yet you will get what you give with me!

We don’t know what will happen.
No one here knows.
I do know that the United States has a prolonged history of intervening in the domestic affairs of Latin America nations, whereby the CIA or military forces — either directly and indirectly — have overthrown governments.
The long-term outcomes of these interventions have been — in the most generous analysis— extremely ambiguous.

Still crying for Maduro

Posted on 12/6/25 at 8:48 pm to Toomer Deplorable
And do you think any of that is going on here? Hegseth is certainly not being covert in any way possible. It’s as clear as day the goal, the intent, and the mission. This isn’t just trying to stop communism from spreading.

Hegseth
Hegseth is the least of my concerns. The concern is the deeply embedded entities in the Potomac Beltway who would do anything to undermine Trump. No matter what Kash Patel may say, there should be no doubt in any sentient person’s mind these same entities were behind the assassination attempts on Trump.

While true, this is a thread about Venezuela so what is your point?
Posted on 12/6/25 at 9:43 pm to 4cubbies
Obama ordered the murder of a U.S. citizen with no due process.
Thoughts?
