we already know the approach. you will defend it without being too explicit... you will leave yourself just enough space to deny support... while you invest hours making excuses for it. Or you'll spike the football if the challenge comes on a Tuesday or a Thursday or something fricking stupid like that.

there's no need to set the table for what's to come.

The actual translation of this into reality is:

Slow won't melt down like an emotional tween girl, which implies he MUST support it.

The top contract being cut is a software development program for the Defense Civilian Human Resources Management System, which was intended to streamline a significant portion of DOD's legacy human resources program.

The program started in 2018 and was supposed to take one year to develop at a cost of $36 million. However, Hegseth said it is now nearly eight years behind schedule and $280 million over budget.

Legit incompetence and/or fraud that deserves public ridicule.

Why do you keep avoiding comment on Trump and Congress funding the DOD at Biden levels through September?

I wouldn't be shocked if the defense budget is severely inflated. I know these defense contractors are acting like a monopoly. This deployment bag I got was $500 from my unit and I looked it up from the company that makes it and it's $150. People also mention those Air Force cups and nothing has changed. Office paper, pens, and etc... all of that is severely inflated. Let's say paper is $10 a pack, my unit is spending $100 per pack. All of that adds up across all of the branches.

Don’t fret it’s early enough, you have plenty of time to close in on the count and undoubtedly trend in the direction of courts view of stalling

The same folks chanting 'no blood for oil' 20+ years ago will now find this unacceptable.

$580,000,000?
I've always assumed that's about the average amount that the DoD and Pentagon lose in the couch cushions on a daily basis.

The DOD is fully funded at Biden levels THROUGH September.

The $580M will cross FYs. They will also remove it from the FYDP in the next POM cycle which will remove that funding from the baseline budget

Insane, but normal for the DoD, grift.

Sadly it isn't even a drop in the bucket but it is still a great start

I don’t see anything related to weapons procurement yet, this is mostly DEI and HR software.

hole e chit.

Do you and "Mathieuera" share passwords? - have both of you ever posted in the same thread?

But as to the 'fully funded at Biden levels' comment - please show us a similar comment by you wrt the discussion on here about how Biden treated the border wall construction.

the money was allocated - much of it spent - work was authorized - material was delivered and on hand - contractors were present under contract to do the work.

Then Biden decided to halt the project - paid off the contractors - and let the materials rust in the desert. Then, at the very end, he tried to sell the materials as scrap for pennies on the dollar.

Did you wade in with any commentary on the legality of any of this?

A judge will force that money to be spent.

A judge doesn't need to force anything.
