Heartwarming to know that liberals are dealing with their own version of McCain in Manchin

Hey you leftist assholes, how's that country over party bullshite working out for you now?
But by all means leftists, please go ahead and primary Joe Manchin in West Virginia, and see how that works out for you. Us conservatives would appreciate you making our jobs easier for the general election.

These are completely different situations. McCain was deceptive, deceitful, and used his voting record as a form of vengeance against those he held grudges against. Manchin is nothing like that.

Different intentions, different techniques.
Same results.

I wish more people would throw the country over party bs back at them. That’s all we ever heard about McCain or any other Republican that didn’t like Trump

I think Republicans need to start helping Democrats push to oust Manchin so he can be replaced by the WV governor or electorate. I don't think most of them realize he comes from the reddest state in the country.

their problem is that McCain had name recognition and everyone except Trump respected him and his service
with Manchin (and now Sinema) it's grifting knowing that he has the Democratic majority in his hands

The big difference here is Manchin is dog meat in WV if he doesn’t stay a blue dog. He’s voting the way his constituents demand him to. McCain NEVER had to be such a self aggrandizing, two faced a-hole to keep his seat in the Senate. He did it for the attention.

By most accounts, John McCain was a nasty, despicable human being with a volatile temper and a legendary mean streak, even by Washington standards. He is most assuredly burning in hell right now.

To be fair, at least Joe Manchin never pretended to be a “war hero.”

McCain was a POS long before Trump came into the picture.

I heard Charlie Kirk praising Manchin today and thought... ." If Joe M decides just this one time to give in and let the Marxists have their way, this country is toast. "
It's just that thin, and I'm not believing anything that's said until the votes are in or the bad bills are pulled.

Democrats don't care.
They'll gladly sacrifice Manchin to get their wish list items passed and thus they have no problem delivering unbelievable vitriol on him if he does not comply. They're going to treat him the way Donald Trump and real conservatives (justified in doing so) treated McCain.
Short term pain for long term gain.
So yeah, Democrats see Manchin the same way you and I see McCain.

Indeed. This is true.

My favorite picture of John McCain.

McCain ran directly against the way he actually voted once Trump was in office. He was spiteful and intentional. Very different from Manchin.

We should all remember how thin it is the next time we start reading "uni-party" garbage on this board.

Not the same at all. McCain was a Republican in a deep red state at that time. During his final election cycle.. he heavily campaigned on getting rid of Obamacare by any means necessary. Then a few months after he won.. he had the chance to get rid of Obamacare. He highfived Schumer as he betrayed his constituents and voted to keep Obamacare.
Manchin is a Democrat in a deep red state. He has to walk on eggshells, trying to not royally piss off either side.

McCain was potter pretty low on my list prior to this event. But him holding his thumb down in the Senate chamber on the Obamacare repeal vote (when he literally said he would repeal it during his reelection) removed any remaining shred of respect I had for him.
He might have been a valiant warrior (still plenty of stories otherwise), but he abused his position as a United States senator one that day.
