Bidne telling Obama that Healthcare Reform is a "big fricking deal".

"BFD" = Big fricking Deal. Obviously.

That T-Shirt was sold on the DNC website shortly after.

But "shithole" is a big fricking deal. Am I right? Trump is unhinged! Racist even! Nevermind Biden said it on live TV, who would have thought language like that would be uttered behind closed doors?

Is anybody even making the point that it is an issue that he said a bad word? I mean come on, how are we to believe that is not the norm behind closed doors in washington.

How many times do you think FDR said vulgarities during ww2?

There's no other argument to be made. The alleged comment was made in response to a lottery style immigration program...

If country of origin is the only criteria, then yea we need to focus on countries like Norway (who's average citizen is more likely to contribute to American society and be a net positive) verses shitholes like Haiti (who's average citizen is more likely to be of less value than the average Norway citizen).

That's an objective fact.

The only room left to bitch and moan is the language used, right?

Surgeon General's job isn't made any harder if Biden calls healthcare a "BFD".

Ambassadors jobs are made more difficult when POTUS calls said country a "shithole." The country's interests are not progressed when POTUS calls another country (or continent) a shithole.

Citation needed.

Pretty sure the billions of dollars given to said countries overrides comments made behind closed doors for which there are not audio or video recordings. If its that big of a deal just withdraw foreign aid until those countries admit that its not that big of a deal.

If he said it in another manner, such as "these are very poor, underdeveloped, unsanitary nations", you are arguing it wouldn't be offensive?

Are we not supposed to be realists? Do you think leaders of these nations think their countries are in great shape?

You beat me to it. These relationships are pretty one sided. We do not need these shitholes, but they sure as hell need our help. They should just concede that it's water under the bridge and move on quickly.

Besides, last I saw, Trump tweeted that he never said it.

Those jobs get harder because a bitch Senator puts feelings, personal feelings, and party over his country. Durbin should have thought about that before running and telling the world what was said in a private meeting.

This, if anyone is to blame its Durbin, for exposing a comment that would only cause harm - from a progressives point of view. For exposing a comment that would have never left that room unless he helped it leave the room...

If you went to a teacher's conference with your kid and she said, "Your kid is a piece of shite." Is that likely to improve your woking relationship with her?

What if she said, "Jr has behaved poorly and performed poorly thus far."

There is a difference whether you want to recognize it or not.

In this analogy the kid would be a rapist, thief, and a murderer.

These countries are, objectively speaking, the worst of the worst places to live on planet Earth.

Stop. Just stop.

Comparing it to an individual person is apples to oranges.

Saying a nation is a shithole is not saying anything about its people, its leaders, or its potential. It's simply saying something (in a vulgar manner) about the actual state of things, which both the people of the nation and the leaders of the nation happen to agree with.

Is that what Obama did when he poked fun of a certain portion of the American population who cling to their bibles and their guns?

"you have these people up in appalachia, rural areas, you name it, they are waving their guns and their bibles. I am embarrassed to share this nation with them."

Then you should be mad at Durbin.

If every derogatory statement about every other country made in private conversations were blasted out to the entire world with prejudice, then a lot of ambassadors jobs might get more difficult.

And who really cares if Haiti's government learns that POTUS refrerred to their nation as a shithold? - isn't that pretty much what they are admitting when they beg for more money, food, medicine, toilet paper, etc??

People like Durbin are like turds in the punch bowl.

You shouldn’t try analogies, you clearly don’t know how they work.
