COVID is literally nothing more than a bunch of older people who make most of the decisions for our country and occupy most of the positions of influence forcing the younger population to comply because they’re scared. Hey look if I was 65+ maybe I’d get the vaccine too but I sure as shite wouldn’t be trying to force my son or my employees to. People are crazy.
You need to get out more.
I'm a senior citizen. Born not long after WWII. I am not vaccinated. I don't think age has anything to do with with. If I had any serious helath problems that might be different.
The main reason I refuse to be jabbed is to show my children and grand children that just doing nothing is OK. Stay healthy, eat right with smart supplements and exercise regularly.
I've known radicals and communists off and on in my life and I know how they think. There is no way any thinking rational person should let these evil people tell you what to jab into your body.
I have several friends my age who are also unvaxxed.

*While yelling at everyone else that they are being selfish if they don’t get a vaccine (with no long term studies available) that supposedly only protects the vaxxed person from worse symptoms, not from spreading the illness AND wear a mask (that says on the actual box it does not protect against this virus).
Old people are requiring 5 year olds to get a vaccine for a virus that does not affect them but the vaccine may affect them long term. 20 years from now, that old person will be dead anyway and today’s 5 year old will be dealing with any possible vaccine side effects. It’s insanity.

I’m very thankful both my mom and my wife’s parents are conservatives and see the evil that’s going on right now. Had my father been alive for Covid and the election last year, I guarantee you he would be sitting in DC jail having participated in the Jan 6th protests.

I admire your choice sir but you are in the minority as a senior. My sentiment is accurate. I agree with everything else you said though. And I get out plenty.

Media programming is legit. People think news is real and have no idea the media could convince them to stick a banana in their ear by interviewing “experts”.

Good for you man.

I know several senior citizens, my parents and other family members included, who chose not to get the vaccine.
But Biden is 79, Fauci and Pelosi are both 81, Bill Gates is 66, the average age of Members of the House at the beginning of the 116th Congress was 57.6 years; of Senators, 62.9 years.
The people making the mandates and the Covid rules are mostly older people.

The last few months have been conversation after conversation about me not being vaccinated. It started with advice, then went to pleading and finally became outright bullying and anger. He was so angry the other day when he called that my niece and nephew (who were in the backseat) were worried about him. Facts, logic and statements about political liberty and individual autonomy do not work. I politely told him that we would not be speaking anymore unless his attitude and tone changed and I haven't heard from him since.
The moral of the story is: Covid is a religious cult. It has turned loving friends and family members into paranoid lunatics, who seem giddy to excommunicate anyone who doesn't share their fear. We are never going back to what it was like prior to March 2020. Too many people have been brainwashed to such a degree that we will never be the same.
It's sad.
I don't know how old your father is, but there's two ways of moving forward.
The "best" way is, when he does pick up the phone to call you, don't take the call. Then, reach out with a letter to him explaining that you are offended that he would think he could determine for you what is best. Let him know that he has chosen fear and propaganda over his son. The hope is that he is forced to face the situation in a way that could save your relationship.
The 2nd "best" way is to realize that no matter what, he's your dad and you just need to be above it. Every time he comes at you, you need to shrug it off like he's an old man. You can't replace your dad. And, you'll never get these moments back. The problem with this path is that you necessarily have to actually lose respect for him.

Good for you on the weight loss and kicking the bad habits.

Sorry you and your dad aren't talking. But it goes two ways. Some that are rabid anti-vax can be as ferocious. They blame the vaxed for spreading the virus under false pretense.
I saw it first hand that someone that was anti-vax ran and got vaxxed because they saw their workplace recently so infected and knew people in the hospital sick with it. They were probably scared of getting sick and losing their job.
The people thinking the vaxxed are the problem and the ones who chose to get vaxxed need to not fight. it is divisive, they want us all fighting on many issues.
If one person is faced with providing for the family or not getting vaxxed it is none of anyone's business. The same for those who will not get a vax for any reason, it is NUNYA.
Tell your dad you got vaxxed and be done with it. But the cult goes both ways. Be some where in the middle and don't talk about it, your dad is probably worried sick about you. Calm his fears, he is the only dad you got.
There have been numerous threads here stating that it is all the vaxxed faults for conforming to the control. They wouldn't be winning if the vaxed never got vaxed. This is NUNYA.
This division is pure stupidity.

So here is my take:
I believe the vaxxed are super pissed at their decision seeing as it’s really not doing much for their health other than potentially putting it in jeopardy.
Therefore, their anger (although directed at you) is actually self anger for their own decision yet you’re conveniently the target of their own frustration.
For the record, progs can all go to hell

One of my daughter's, mother in law pops up coughing and wheezing and wanted to visit. Her mother-in-law is a die hard covidian fully vaxed. Daughter asks, are you sick, she said yes but I went to the doctor and got something for the cough. Daughter asks, were you tested? She comes back with no, I am fully vaxed, I don't need to do that. Then she tells my daughter if ya'll would get vaxxed, you wouldn't need to worry about that.

quote:Personally, I would not. But I think you should be bending over backwards to maintain the relationship long-term.
Would you allow yourself to be subjected to being yelled and screamed at for a personal decision?
quote:Of course he should.
Would you not want that person to treat you with a modicum of dignity and respect?
quote:It might be their fault, but I don't think it's fair to say that he wants you excommunicated. He's obviously done an extremely poor job of expressing his love in this instance, but certainly his overall objective is your health and adjacency to his life, no?
If they refused to do that, isn't it their fault as to why you no longer speak?

It is a sad situation that many families are facing. Yet such familial division is an added benefit as far as the reigning political establishment is concerned. This is a key component of the UniParty® — to have us fighting amongst ourselves as they solidify their gains.

No one can prove that the vaxed are spreading the virus, just like no one can prove that if you are vaxed it lessons your symptoms and or prevents pneumonia. no one knows anything it seems. one day the IV therapies work the next Minnesota says they studied this and they don't work.
as long as we have Fauchi and Biden no one will trust anything. But Trump says get the vax.

I’m sorry this happened, man.
Prayers that your dad will wake up one morning soon and realize that life is too short for this shite.
