Hate crime in Maui

More thuggery from non-caucasians. Family beaten while on vacation. Visited Maui about 30 years ago. Grand Wailea was top notch. Much prefer Florida panhandle beaches but it was a great getaway. No plans to return.

Definitely seems like there is more to this story that I am betting involves trash on both sides and booze. Hawaii is pretty easy flight from LA there is a lot of CA trash that vacations there.

Strange story - The family says they were singled out because they were white, but this resort is located in the resort enclave section of Ka'anapali, which would indicate there were almost exclusively white people there.

None of that area is really an enclave like Wailea. If the locals really wanted to beat up white people, there are plenty of other, easier places than a resort. There has to be more to this story.

We’ve seen how adept the denizens of Montgomery and Mobile are at organizing black invasions of white resorts. I would imagine man Friday is capable of the same.

Native Hawaiians are not friendly toward whites. Not all of them are hostile, but a lot are, and you can easily get fricked up going to the wrong place or caught in the wrong situation with the wrong native locals.

I know several people who have lived in Hawaii as adults... and two of my friends' kids went to the University of Hawaii, both graduated a couple years ago. Not all Hawaiians hate whitey, but a ton do... and you can easily get messed up if you're in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and/or run into the wrong "locals." A lot of native Hawaiians are even more pissed off now than they've been because everything has gotten so expensive due to tourism and all the rich white mainlanders who have moved ther and driven property values and rents up.

We stayed at that resort for a week a few years ago. It was fine and we checked it off of our list.
Best thing happened when my wife and SIL decide to go shopping at the Miracle Mile but took a wrong turn and ended up at a Walmart. They'd never seen a Walmart. Saved a lot of money that day.
