I know several people who have lived in Hawaii as adults... and two of my friends' kids went to the University of Hawaii, both graduated a couple years ago. Not all Hawaiians hate whitey, but a ton do... and you can easily get messed up if you're in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and/or run into the wrong "locals." A lot of native Hawaiians are even more pissed off now than they've been because everything has gotten so expensive due to tourism and all the rich white mainlanders who have moved ther and driven property values and rents up.
I have been to Hawaii four times on vacation and love the weather and the being able to snorkle off the beach....but each trip there I have noticed the surrounding areas getting worse and worse. The fires in Maui created a bunch of hardship that the locals have not dealt with very well.

I have been to Kauai a dozen times since 2004. Love the scenery, the chill vibe in the towns while enjoying the scenery. Some of the most beautiful views from all over that island whether in town or hiking, or on one of the beaches. But, I wouldn’t take residence there due to the hate from the native islanders. Many of those blue collar dudes are just itching for confrontation with a Haole. Over my collective 30 weeks spent there over the years, I can say that with certainty.

Kauai is overwhelmingly White and Asian. Only 10% Native Hawaiian.

The entire vibe of the island is vastly different than Maui or the Big Island (and obviously Oahu - but that goes without saying).

I’ve spent a lot of time in Florida, and it’s nice, but there are better beaches in the world. Hawaii and parts of Jamaica to name a couple.

I have been to every part of Hawaii and getting away from the resorts and tourist areas I have felt that resentment vibe at times.....they definetly don't like mainlanders especially when you get off the beaten path...

This.

Luckily Kauai is very small and thankfully whites there are everywhere. The natives there can only get away with so much and they are very hateful.

I was on the north shore of the Big Island in Hilo and around the east coast where they basically don't get any tourists....felt kind of outlaw and got the vibe you best not hang around too long and look conspicuous. A lot dudes like this

Yeah, really. I've been to both, numerous times. But hey, some people just have low-rent taste. Real Okie from Muskogee types

Meh, if you like sand that’s the same shade of tan as a cat box, then Hawaii is definitely your thing. As I said, you do you, twatwaffle.

While native Hawaiians are 10%, the 2nd and 3rd generation Koreans and Japanese feel the same way as the natives. Hell, many of the 1st generation white people who have been there 20+ years have adopted the same hatred for white visitors. Most are whites who feel the need to knight for all things culturally Hawaiian. It’s like they think that they are in the native club because they planted there 20 years ago.

Is "native" in Hawaii determined by blood or decendency?
