Has your alma mater newspaper gone off the deep end?

For the University of Alabama that is a resounding YES: Just look at the Opinion articles:

Open Letter: This University isn't made for me

This guy is basically upset that his fraternity brother resigned because he is a racist, cop-hating, and America hating bigot. He then equates this as UA still being stuck in the George Wallace days

Opinion: Just use the right pronouns:

This student is a waiter and "mistakenly" called his/her patrons by the wrong pronoun. The least bit of shock in the article is he/she is an "English" major. I wish UA would get rid of these useless degrees. Also it's name is Bronwyn. I have no clue if that is male/female

The Reveille at LSU has always been a liberal rag not fit to be toilet paper

Aren’t university newspapers all ALWAYS somewhat to the left of the overall population of the University? I seem to remember thinking much the same thing about the Battalion back in the 1980s.

Dumb post.

First of all, one of those "opinion letters" you cherry picked wasn't written by Crimson White staff.

Second, if the Crimson White has "gone off the deep end", then kindly explain why they posted this letter, also on the website with the two you mentioned.

"Young adults today are too sensitive. Correction: young adults today are politically correct. They protect the rights and beliefs of all groups; except the ones who disagree with them. Correction: they protect the rights and beliefs of all groups; except those who are politically incorrect.

Young adults today are vengeful, angry and outraged about everything. To them, the world can do no right. This thought is fostered by a negative media, disillusioned older generations and a multitude of other factors. The attempts to create a more peaceful world have become disgustingly uniform and center around one thing: attacking those who disagree. The opposition must be stupid, supremacists, killers and criminals."

That sure as hell doesn't sound like "going off the deep end", now does it?

Even dumber post.

First of all, they didn't have to publish it did they?

Second, one opinion article that states the opposite of what I show does not make my opinion wrong.

If you go back to older articles you will see what I'm saying

Reville was pretty much a liberal rag when I was there in the 80s.

When I attended Centenary (dark ages) the Conglomerate was an outstanding college paper. The letters to editor involved extensive detailed debates between students. The combatants were very civil and very intellectual.
All political views were welcome as long as you could defend your position.

Today, the school is still academically exclusive but it's overrun with left wing girls. There is a high percentage of LUGS on campus. They run the paper. It's crap. Full of 'Here are the next five events to help the poor people in the community.'

all colleges are fringe communist these days. Even our beloved Deep South universities we cheer on every Saturday. We've been infiltrated.

I attended LSU during late 90s/early 00s and The Reveille was garbage then too.

I can only imagine how it is now.
