I can’t quite figure Pence out- is he swamp or is he MAGA? He’s definitely much more statesman and buttoned up than our President.

They just seem like the oddest of couples.

I had my reservations about Pence early on but he's full MAGA.

He had numerous opportunities to jump ship, especially after the Access Hollywood tape... but he's been a loyal soldier to Trump.

I like Mike.

They are indeed. But recall during the campaign Trump was such a newb to Washington and diplomacy that he needed a counter balance on the ticket

Now, not so much.

Reagan/Bush were very different...
Nixon/Ford were dissimilar

And then back in the day they were all against each other.

He sounds like an everyday Politician

Trump sounds more like the common man

Pence went in the ticket to shore up the evangelical vote. That’s the only reason.

Pence I think is a down to earth good honest guy.

He is Trumps insurance policy against impeachment/assassination which allows Trump to do the necessary dirty work to drain the swamp

Um of course, in the early days when the President and VP were from different parties they were MUCH more different.

Can you imagine if we still lived under that system and Obama's VP had been McCain and then Romney? Could you imagine if Hillary Clinton were Trump's VP?

I don't know... that depends on Pence and I don't know enough to say. I do believe that Reagan was anti-deep state and his VP deep state and sold his soul to the devil.

Here is a hint. Four years ago National Review ran a feature on him as a GOP up and coming star. Take it for what it's worth.

Honestly, it doesn’t take much for you guys to cry “deep state”.
