I had not heard about it. I know they mention wage issues, but is there any Covid shot mandate issue there as well that anyone has heard?

Cameco down in the bayou contract manufactures john deere sprayers for them, had a fella who was a supplier tell me about the unbelievable difference in a john deere union factory and cameco that is employee owned, quite quite impressive.

Wasn't aware there was one. But, our local Kubota dealership has almost zero inventory on the yard. Can't get implements either (Landpride out of Kansas, I believe).

I guess you could say the workers sent the company a Deere John letter.

The strike is over wages from what I heard. Good! John Deere as a company sucks. They setup their business so that you can't work on their products. frick John Deere!

I used to work at the Deere plant in Georgia. I wonder if they are striking to? They did have a union there but I doubt 50% of the employees were in it, I wasn't.

They've been eating. Largest seller worldwide. I don't know why though. They are all plastic (not really but they seem built cheaply). I like my Kubota.

I was kinda kidding because I don't think that Mahindra makes the really big stuff like the monster combines, etc.

Case is more likely a competitor for that stuff.

Wow, I'm surprised they could get the people there together to do that, the union there was a joke. It's been close to 15 years since I've worked there however so I guess things may have changed

I know that the order for my new John Deere Submarine has been delayed indefinitely. I was gonna take the old lady to Chattanooga for our anniversary and look at Ruby Falls through my periscope.

They need to cave to the workers’ demands because a shortage of John Deere equipment will exacerbate food shortages LINK

i saw the picture of the strikers blocking the road to let the workers into the factory... and the police were doing nothing about it...

Nah, they do not necessarily need to cave, especially if the worker's demands are unreasonable...

We switched everything from John Deere to Case. The aftermarket and parts portion is a huge job and the John Deere customer service was trash. Case is much better in that department. We had an auger go out in our combine this year and Case had the auger and gear ready to pick up.

I went and picked it up and met the mechanic at our shop. Had that new bad boy installed in 1 hour and went back to harvesting. Same type of deal with JD would have cost just at least a week.

Similar deal with CAT yellow equipment... Both have priced themselves out of most markets and what once made people pay more for them (reliability, quality service, etc) are severely lacking right now...

They did this to themselves...

I know a lot of farmers go with John Deere because they get pretty favorable financing terms. I wonder if this causes any hardships right in the middle of harvest, if they will rethink Deere equipment in the future.
