Houston Chronicle

quote:

By 11 a.m. Monday, the seventh day of early voting, more than 20,000 local ballots had been cast, putting the county on pace for about 690,000 total by the time polls close for the day at 7 p.m. That would be about 51 percent of the 1.3 million county voters who cast ballots in the presidential election four years ago.

Serious question: Why?

What’s so different this election?
I’ve never not voted (since reaching the legal age); elections are elections.
What’s getting people to the polls in greater numbers this cycle?

Covid? Hating the Pussygrabber or the narc that will throw you in prison for bullshite? The later got me out to the polls today. It’s why I find it idiotic they’re waiting to milk the Hunter Biden story. Put out all the damning information out tonight. Do it now.

This an existential election. There may not be another one if Trump loses.

nobody riding the fence

people either voting because they love the man like a cult leader or truly hate him with borderline derangement

turnout is gonna be bonkers for this one.

Both sides firmly believe with all of their heart that if their team loses America is done forever.

Because Pete Carrol was making fun of us for having less than a 60% voter turnout in 2016.

While we will be on opposing sides in this war, Bill Maher said it best last year to try to make peace with the other side because he fears for the next Thanksgiving/Christmas, we’ll be very actively contemplating Civil War and it was the last holiday we were going to get without that being on the table: They laugh at Jeff Dunham... and we laugh at Lena Dunham

EDIT: Also I would not be remotely surprised if his “New Rule” next week is directly going after Robert Reich for his disgusting tweet to have camps for anyone who ever supported or voted for Trump.

but the right is correct

Republicans are not doing anything to ensure that they will never be competed against again

Democrats are planning a list as long as my arm.

I won't bother listing them, what's the point when dealing with "both sides" nonsense?

It will slow down. I bet the vast majority of people voting are chronic voters. They are just voting early.

Yeah, the article said it’s already slowed down, compared to last week.

I fear no matter who wins it doesn’t end well. I think the nation will enter into a dark period of a bloody civil war

There is going to be some serious bitching and discomfort for a while

I'm gonna do my best to love all my neighbors and be a good citizen. Not much else I can offer.

we'll see. I think the record early voting turnouts all over the country has everything to do with COVID and trying to avoid larger crowds and lines and expect equally poor election day voting compared to what we usually see.

The left doesn’t want a true civil war to break out. It is very bad news for them. They need the 2a gone. They have to kill elderly trump supporters.
