From the amount of wine bottles I must conclude they are at Nancy Pelosi's.

Well let me educate you with a strategy for enjoying extremely high quality wine for the rest of your life at a much less cost but takes a few years to get going. It involves having such a large amount of bottles of which you ask “why?”.
You buy 2 cases of high quality wine as soon as they are sold by the winery. 1 case is for your consumption. The other case is held onto for a number of years. Once the value of the reserve case meets or exceeds the value of 2 more cases, you trade it for 2 cases of the current year. This ladder effect will allow you to drink extremely expensive wine (the first case over time) once you can roll the initial case. Some people wait till the reserve case can purchase 3,4, 5x cases and then you are pretty much drinking these wines for free.
But it takes time, choosing the correct wines that age and are of high quality, initial investment till you can start converting your reserve cases, and the will power to not dip into your reserves.
If you don’t do this and buy just 1 bottle at a time, the next time you want that wine it might cost you 150%, 200%, etc. or much much more if you buy them as you enjoy them.
That’s why some people have large amounts of wine. It’s not for drinking. Sure sometimes it’s for showing off but that’s not really what smart money does.
Why do you think some people who are not billionaires can treat their guests to a $1000 bottle of wine and not bat an eye? It didn’t cost them $1000. It cost them $100.

That table required a very large tree to produce. Redwood maybe? Buy, they are the environmentalists telling us we're ruining the planet?

... I mean if you really want to invest your money that way...
That's you.
I don't think it's the Obamas though.
