Makes sense actually.

quote:

With @SpeakerJohnson's leadership House Republicans repealed $20B from Biden’s IRS that would’ve funded ramped up audits of taxpayers & shakedowns of small businesses. With a narrow majority, the House passed a pro-growth tax package that extends key Trump tax cuts. Real wins for taxpayers.

The responses to this thread make it clear the Republican base is too stupid and civically illiterate for conservatism to even have a chance.

WTF are you talking about? Johnson took a bullshite paper victory to save a little face, and gave away 100 times that elsewhere to the democrats. This was orchestrated.

This is why they need the shakedowns in the first place. They need more money to finance even more shakedowns.

Which is the chicken and which is the egg?

I am talking about how ridiculously oblivious to reality the base is. Johnson is operating with a razor thin majority in the House, and his majority includes arse clowns like MTG who grift the useful idiots of the party. The Senate is controlled by the Democrats. The White House is controlled by the Democrats. He has absolutely zero leverage, other than shutting down the government and shutting down the government is political suicide.

This is a bad myth. People on the right will find and make up any excuse at all in order to justify inaction and losing.
Endless excuses. Endless losing.

Then pass a barebones bill that funds the government and nothing else.

This isn’t hard.

It always has been. Polling data consistently reflects this.

Where it'll be dead on arrival in the Democratically controlled Senate, IF it even passes with the razor thin majority in the House in the first place.

Then the Dems would own shutting down the government.

You should teach them instead of berating them. Get them on your side.
