You got an albertsons near you? Go to the app and clip the $5.97 T-bone coupon. I got 4 .75lbs NY strips for $18 last night. This article is somewhat correct, but here’s the catch, grocery stores hide their cheaper prices behind app based coupons and mail in coupons. They are preying off the people who just grab off the shelf and go, price gouging those pre-labels and can tell club fed, “see our prices are pre-pandemic prices when you use our coupons.” Club fed is like, “cool with me.”

It is.

The powers that be realize their constituents are idiots and will believe it.

They also know that the people complaining about grocery prices aren't voting Dem anyway.

High grocery prices don't affect the average Dem voter.

-White-guilt boomers with $1 million+ in the bank in retirement savings

-Young SJW types who DoorDash their food and blow their paychecks on frivolous crap

-Poor people on food stamps

-Middle-class liberals who grin and bear it because they'd rather go broke than have Orange Man back in the Oval Office

I have worked at Walmart for 21 years. I see prices every day. And I buy stuff there every day. EVERYTHING is much more expensive than in 2019. For example, a cold 20oz coke in 2019 was $1.68. It’s now $2.38. Bananas were .38/lb, now they are .58/lb. You figure out the % increase. It ain’t good.

That’s according to a MarketWatch analysis of wage and inflation data that shows how the price of food relative to wages has fluctuated in recent years.

So, they cherry picked from the bullshite government data to spin their narrative.

Yep.

I’m in a grocery store 2-3 times a week. I know the trends of what’s increased on items I buy.

Wow. They are probably right about wage increases now keeping up with grocery prices but that is ignoring every other thing that has also increased in cost. Completely tone deaf

That's not how inflation works.

What sort of propaganda is this?

Man, if only I wasn’t alive in 2019 to know the difference, this little mind trick might very well have an effect upon me.

I think that they "believe" they are gaslighting us. Anyone actually laying down cash knows this is BS.

Clearly you must be a fig…..I mean a lib!
Therefore you lack thought, cognitive awareness and smarts!

Groceries on average across United States are up a whopping 76% higher than when Trump was in office! Look it up, hell they even talked about this at a congressional hearing last week

I like how they use mental gymnastics to not say that prices have come down, but to say it takes the same number of hours worked.

Not for me, 3-4% annual pay bumps doesn’t have me anywhere near on par with how many hours I needed to work in 2019 for the same purchasing power.
