Silicon Valley defenders: If you don't like Big Tech's censorship, just start your own social media platform with rules you want.
Parler: OK, we did. We're the country's most popular app!
Amazon/Apple/Google: We're uniting to take you off the internet with our monopoly power.

Amazon -- which already has a $600 million contract to provide services to the CIA, and is desperately bidding to make that far more -- is deeply opposed to violence and fascism.
Jeff Bezos will use his monopoly power to make the world better:

I wonder how many people subserviently cheering Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook and Google billionaires for destroying Parler a) have ever been on Parler, b) know anything about it besides what CNN & NBC censors have shown them, & c) compared the hate speech there to what's on FB & YouTube.

I don't know this guy but find someone from the left with such a strong voice against big tech is refreshing.

There were groups on Parler going into explicit detail of planning this insurrection, with the logistics and offering financial help to "patriots" to "storm the capitol", Why didn't Parler police this somewhat? Becasue this now gives these tech companies perfect excuse to cancel conservative voices. I don't care what Parler was trying to accomplish by being more open and free than the others...this was a planned attack against the American government. You're in denial or look silly trying to say otherwise. This mess has greatly hurt the ability to keep the Dems in check and it's obvious why.

So no free speech or right to assembly.
Land of the free...

Joe Biden and several other prominent Democrats as well as some Republicans can been conducting a clandestine attack against the American government for years. What's your point?

And there were hundreds of people on Twitter planning BLM marches, including politicians

Thomas Jefferson welcomed such harsh criticism...
How times have changed.

What do you think anifa was doing on twitter?

Provide the receipts. You are repeating something you heard. Show me the screen shots of post detailing a plan and financial support.

Looking at all of the politically minded attempts at repression, I'm thinking these big companies need to be classified as "common carriers."

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

But they are just service providers like Twitter right?
I mean how many crimes have been orchestrated over cellphones. Should we ban cellphones? Or drop all calls that meet a certain level of violent talk?
Trying to shut down speech never works. You think people are so helpless that they couldn’t plan to storm the capital without fricking Twitter or Parler? You aren’t being honest.
And when you start to shut down open speech it just confirms people’s suspicions and the talk goes underground. That’s when the real crazies come out.
You don’t know what you are creating. It’s a monster you can’t control.

Valid points. Although were they explicitly organizing group lootings? If they were then this has to be used to attack Twitter

...unless the violence and fascism is committed by the likes of Antifa and BLM.

I don’t know but they sure did coordinate shutting down entire city blocks of Seattle using it. And planning a protest at Seattle City Hall that resulted in destruction. And a police precinct.
Open your eyes, Toddy. This is not good.
