House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy said that House Speaker Paul Ryan led a meeting with senior Justice Department and FBI officials Friday, and said he “made it very clear” the House will use “its full arsenal of constitutional weapons to gain compliance” on outstanding subpoenas.

"Under the heading of minor miracles, you had members of the House working on a Friday night," Gowdy said. "Paul Ryan led this meeting. You had [House Intelligence Committee Chair] Devin Nunes, Bob Goodlatte, myself and everyone you can think of from the FBI and the DOJ, and we went item by item on both of those outstanding subpoenas.

“And Paul made it very clear; there’s going to be action on the floor of the House this week if the FBI and DOJ do not comply with our subpoena request. So [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein, Chris Wray you were in the meeting, you understood him just as clearly as I did. We’re going to get compliance or the House of Representatives is going to use its full arsenal of constitutional weapons to gain compliance."

“I don’t want the drama,” Gowdy said , adding that contempt of Congress is on the table. “I want the documents.”

All talk. Anything Gowdy claims is complete nonsense. Glad he's retiring.

It's time for Trump to get involved.

He should take an unannounced trip up to the FBI offices on Monday. He should walk into Wray's office and tell Wray to get Rosenstein into his office IMMEDIATELY.

He should then tell Rosenstein that he is to get all the documents that Congress has requested in that office in 15 minutes. Rosenstein should be told that if the documents aren't in that office within 15 minutes, that he should turn over his badge immediately, and that the security guards standing behind Trump will escort him out of the building and he can consider himself fired. Don't even let him go back to his office -- his personal sh!t will be boxed up and mailed to him.

If Rosenstein refuses or balks and is escorted out of the building, Trump should say "NEXT UP" and do the same thing to everyone else down the line until all the documents are handed over.

Then Trump should break out a big rubber stamp with the word "DECLASSIFIED" and declassify EVERY document so that they can no longer redact their own crimes. He should then instruct whoever is left to turn over a copy of all of these documents to Nunes.

Funny thing is, your scenario is exactly what needs to happen to clear the board as far fetched as it is. No more stalling. No more defiance in the face of Congress.

I wonder if they really, really mean it this time. Stop with the treats and haul these jackasses to jail.

Sure they do.

And they’ll mean it again next week. And they’ll really, REALLY mean it again the week after that.

They are trying to steer the talk away from removing Ryan from the speaker seat.

Let the new speaker handle it.

frick Ryan and Gowdy
