We get off on it because is my voice, OUR voices, holding people accountable, and looking for some truth. Government employees shouldn't be allowed to deflect questions about their duties.

Stop conflating a potential rogue agent with the entire federal government.
I'm not. I am talking about the endemic problem of Fed Gov being too involved in protecting and growing their "powers" at the expense of self determination, etc.

I've never understood how when Republicans are in charge, the Dems complain about the federales, and when the Dems are in charge, the Republicans do the same thing.
I am an equal opportunity 'hater'. I despise the CURRENT disingenuous, dishonest assholes. Whoever that happens to be at any time.

If you are referencing Lerner, do federal employees not have fifth amendment rights?
I said nothing about Lerner, particularly. She has her 5th Right. I have my right to not give a sick rat's arse about her lying twat self.

If you are referencing Koskinen, you should realize that he has a tough position.
frick his "tough position". He ACCEPTED the job

This.
He is untouchable. He knows where too many skeletons are.
Might end up committing suicide in a park or flying into the side of a mountain one day.

Damn, Gowdy is a pitbull.... Its too fricking bad he is beginning to fall in line with the politicians given his recent comments about pulling Obama's vacations

Let me guess... another clown show of anger by Gowdy Doody, treating Mr. Koskinen as a hostile criminal even when Koskinen wasn't at the IRS at the time of the Republicans' alleged "targeting".
What a BIG MAN that Gowdy is. So brave and all that. Of course, rednecks will be impressed.
LEAVE THE GOVERNMENT ALONE!
Until a Republican is in the White House. Then it's open game.

"Destroys" is such a hackneyed phrase and generally indicates someone did something you agree with.

The subject of this thread is the TigerDroppings equivalent of an Upworthy article.

Koskinen and other evasive liberals rely heavily on "jargon". They speak in corkscrews instead of straight lines and tend to say stuff in a way that always leave themselves an escape chute if pressed on the facts. Gowdy doesn't speak that language. LINK
Both of them are quite skilled in their communications techniques. I applaud both Representative Gowdy and Director Koskinen actually. But I have zero confidence that anything will ever come of this (sadly). They brought in a "made man" to clean up the mess, and Director Koskinen is going to take the secrets to the grave.
Say what you want, the Democrats know how to close ranks. The Mafia would be proud of their discipline.

Of course they have there 5th amendment rights, However, if they, if asked about the course of doing their jobs for the fed gov, have to invoke them, then they should be summarily fired without pay or benefits.
Let them go to court and clam up during their defense. We should not have to pay someone who cannot answer question about what they did on the public payroll for fear of impiicating themselves in a felony.
If the 5th is pleaded for some other charge, say holding up a liquor store, then perhaps they should be granted administrative leave with pay, But DAMN, when asked about how you were doing your JOB, if you have to rely on the 5th to keep out of jail, then by GAWD we don't need to be paying you anymore.
Screw her - with Rex's dick, of course.

Lots of liberal butthurt here.
I don't sit on either side of the fence. But I LOVE to see the IRS squirm. I don't care WHO is doing the questioning.
If it was a democrat up there questioning the IRS, I'd be just as giddy.
But Democrats LOVE the IRS and think they can do no wrong. So frick that.

This is where Dems need to look in the mirror and realize how absolutely insanely blinded and lockstep they've become. What workaday MF'er in their right mind defends the IRS?

Gowdy obviously fears Koskinen, thus the inappropriate belligerence and histrionics.
Koskinen, you see, is likely to weather anything Gowdy throws at him, and Gowdy knows it.
I am going to agree with rex. this is just red meat. I can see why some people find it satisfying but its just showmanship at this point.

quote:This country needs more "...inappropriate belligerence". In general, we have become waaaaay too polite and tolerant, as it only invites opportunistic liberals to advance their distorted, irrational agenda.
Gowdy obviously fears Koskinen, thus the inappropriate belligerence and histrionics.
You must remember this: liberals have no souls and are adept at projecting accountability upon whoever is convenient, thereby escaping consequences - hence the current state of affairs. The time to push back is at hand. Gowdy is masterful at this. Even if the IRS gets a pass, Gowdy's efforts are not wasted.

Think about why that is. The IRS has become blatantly partisan and gives any sort of congressional oversight (also blatantly partisan) the middle finger right in front of the entire country. There was a time when that would have been unthinkable.

yeah the most transparent administration in the history of the world and all over too
has the right to plead the 5th
