I'd like to see the specific projects that were vetoed. I have no problem with axing a livestock pavilion in Jackson Parish and street lights in Bossier Parish.
Are these state or city/parish roads?

Vetoed projects include dollars for road work in Acadia, St. Landry, Iberia and Vermilion parishes. A $12 million road extension in Lafayette was stripped.

All of these savings will go straight to much needed projects with big impacts all around the state, such as:
- A new city Children’s Museum in New Orleans
- A new westbound only freeway interchange at the airport in New Orleans
- Brand new playground equipment in 3 parks in New Orleans
- A new church hall HVAC system in mid city New Orleans
Improvements to the Audubon Zoo Parking Lot in New Orleans
-Funding for road and sewer improvements in downtown New Orleans.
-A new dermatology clinic at the New Orleans medical center.

What has JBE accomplished that he'll be remembered for?
Right now, all he's got is a Medicaid expansion that's blowing up our budget to levels we can't afford and taxes out of the arse that's kicking the Louisiana economy while it's down and right now, he's calling special session after special session to scream and shout for more of those taxes.
He sucks arse.

I am heartbroken to hear that my beloved state is in such dire straights. I believe every citizen should chip in to help out. I am offering a series of methods that should help. 1. All state employees should give up vacation pay. 2. State employees that drive state vehicles home should be charged for every for miles driven on private time. 3. State perks like Saints & LSU tickets and Tulane scholarships should be sold. 4. Old Charity hospital and other unused state buildings should be sold. 5. All Higher Boards of Education should be combined to save duplication. 6. TOPS should be granted on the qualified basis of success based on graduation and the commitment to stay and work in the state. 7. The state legislature should be allowed to meet in special session until this problem is solved. 8. Each member of the legislature will be apportioned an equal amount for expenses incurred. 9. Each member of the legislature will be charged a monthly fee for offices in government building commensurate with going office rental rates in the Baton Rouge area. 10. The Governor should be charged a monthly fee for the use of the Governor's mansion. 11. The Governor should be charged for his/her security detail. 12. Every elected state official including the legislature should have pay cut 10%, to begin with. This amount should rise until the budget is balanced. Now watch and see if any of these are passed or even proposed.

No, there won't be any spoilers like "Sinkhole" Scott Angelle to gum up the works. Hopefully Jim Flores keeps his 2 million for a better candidate.
JBE is toast. He knows it, you know it. His only solution is to raise taxes, something he promised NOT to DO.

What good does sewer improvements in New Orleans do if they can’t run the pumps when we get a summer rain?

What good is a new bridge in Lake Charles or Baton Rouge if New Orleans has to pay for their own Children’s Museum?

Damn, I wish our governor had the balls to do this. We spend way too much on both.
The expanded Medicaid is killing us.

We have been polling him every two weeks since he swore in, its never been more than 3/4s of a percentage point +/- 58%. Thats steady, long term support.
Now, do you want to talk about the mountain of cash he sits on? with more on the way?

Gov. Honor Code doesn't give a damn about any promises.

What about the R legislators that asked for these pork projects? did they promise not to?

IM all for cutting expenses but budgets for new roads should be at the bottom of things cut in Louisiana.

David Vitter and Hillary Clinton had the polling numbers and big money and do you know why they're sitting their asses at home instead of making big decisions as an executive?
It's because they didn't have a competent and worthwhile message like JBE is not going to have next year.
What is JBE going to run on? He has zero positive accomplishments that he can sell in a red state and keeps bitching about more taxes while the economy sucks and jobs are leaving this state in droves.

Are you assuming these are all pork projects? I don't know, because I haven't looked into it. Are all the projects in Dem districts legit, non-pork projects?

JBE repeatedly said he wouldn't raise taxes at all during the campaign and swore he wasn't lying about that.
It was the first promise he broke when he immediately called a special session and yelled to raise taxes.
