Google's new self-aware AI

Tucker had a guy on tonight who was one of the Google's engineers working on the new AI program. Blake Lemoine thinks that the new AI could be sentient.
During the interview this guy kept calling the ai program a "person". Basically like a child. Many are working hard to "protect" this potentially "new life"..
It amazes me that the left thinks that circuits and memory and programming can create a "person" and should be protected, yet an unborn fetus is nothing more than a glob of cells requiring no protection at all and can be done away with at a whim..

I greatly fear this development - been dreading it for a long time.
Once they cross that threshold, there will be no turning back.
You cannot program honor or morality or sense of responsibility or thankfulness or gratitude into a set of binary code.
We will have the worst of all worlds - instant access to mass information sorted in any of a billion different ways, which no human can compete with - Giving such an entity any degree of power will end badly - very badly.

A lot of people didn't make a big enough deal about what DeepMind's AlphaZero accomplished 4 years ago. It taught itself how to play chess in about one day and was routinely smashing the best existing computer programs almost immediately thereafter. There was controversy about processing power and such, but the bottom line was that the neural-network type of learning was absolutely revolutionary.
They let AlphaZero play enough games to demonstrate its superiority then pulled it, rather quickly, into obscurity and hiding.
That demonstrated enough to me to illustrate the scary (inevitable) capabilities that lie ahead, clearly within our lifetimes.

You joke but this is why I don’t worry about AI becoming sentient and killing us normal people.
Remember a few years ago when they released an AI driven bot that could interact on Twitter? It got super racist and had to be shutdown.
I’m certain that a powerful AI would be very logical and therefore very much anti-woke.
