As a Tennessean, I want to apologize to the rest of the country for this. Yeah, it's real. A 74 year old do nothing politician who's biggest claim to fame in her career is getting a couple fo buildings renamed (yeah, you can look that up). Two years into her term as Senator, she's decided she wants to be our next Governor.
Marsha Blackburn, the Republican nominee for Tennessee governor, posted this to hype the start of early voting on October 14, 2026, ahead of the November 3 general election.
The backup dancers in the AI-generated video are fellow Tennessee Republicans:
Rep. Tim Burchett (U.S. House, R-TN)
Sen. Bill Hagerty (U.S. Senate, R-TN)
State Sen. Brent Taylor
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs (appearing in his old WWE persona as the masked wrestler Kane)

You should apologize for AI.

Does this mean that you are voting against her?

You should be apologizing for Steve Cohen. Not Marcia Blackburn.

She is a good lady that looks damned good for her age. She also did a lot of work fighting child trafficking.

I'm fully supportive of calling boomer content like this SI

That’s why I’m voting for Hatley. He’s a business owner and seems like a good dude.
Marsha is not a serious individual.

There is some real concern that the Governor's race is getting too close for comfort.
For those outside Tennessee - an independent candidate is in the race - David Hatley, a businessman who is clearly siphoning off votes from Blackburn.
Marsha also will not debate, which rubs some people the wrong way and might be pushing them to Hatley.
Marsha is still up, but there is time for Hatley to continue making inroads through debates with the Democrat and another independent (without Marsha) and through his television ads - which are run regularly.
Blackburn had similar issue in the primary that she ended up winning, but it really was more of just running out the cloc then anythign else.

From the thumbnail, I thought it was going to be an SNL cold open

I want to know who gave this the green light.

Same, I sent a letter to Blackburn with the 2A being the focus. Her reply didn't leave me all warm and fuzzy about her being the next governor.

After seeing some of this AI garbage all over politician's social media these days, I can no longer make fun of nurses or teachers for doing the same dumb shite. Thanks a lot, Dorks.

Tennessee peaked with Dolly Parton, y’all are doing the best you can now, no apology necessary.
