I graduated LSU 20 years ago. It was a complete hotbed of liberalism then just like it is now. Every professor I had was a libtard. Every TA I had was a libtard. This was not long after W had won and they were losing their fricking minds.
Public college campuses and academia in general are blue as the sky. Don't worry. Your niece is gonna be just as OK as I was coming out of school, assuming she's not a dumbass and can't get past the wool being pulled over her eyes.

Well people need to put pressure on the new governor to put an end to this garbage. IRRC I read where TX has their anti-woke in state schools law starting on Jan1
Parents definitely need to keep an eye on this just as much and make sure they remind their kids. Even if it takes cutting them off to have them survive on their own.

Your peers of 20 years ago are a lot different than her peers will be today. She is less likely to change if many/most of the people she is around believes the same shite.

I think there's a different dynamic with the college situation.
Let's start about 50 years ago. Some college bosses were left and some were right. No problem. The ones on the right chose professors based on merit (some left and some right). The ones on the left chose ONLY left wingers.
Gradually, through retirement, it got to the point were all the bosses were left wing. Resulting in all appointments to staff being left wing.

Get out of here with this garbage schtick. God gave us the ability to "judge," so it's not a sin do to so with in reason. If it were we wouldn't survive as we'd be to stupid to learn what is dangerous.
This same thing was used to stop "slut shaming" and now we see where that has gotten society. God didn't intend judgement to stop if someone was living in sin, but for it to stop when someone stopped their sinful ways and was born again ie fresh start. I doubt God meant "just let people live in sin and don't say anything about how they shouldn't, let me deal with that when they die and face my judgement".

There's some truth here, parents these days, generally, have only taught their children what to think. In a mostly homogeneous society that's enough. However, the past few decades have seen a large political shift. Obama ran on a pro traditional marriage platform during his second presidential run. Barely 8 years later, when Trump was running, we skipped right past gay marriage to transgender bullshite.
Conservative values are being challenged across the board. If you're just teaching your children what to believe instead of also what reasons justify said beliefs you're asking for your child to be indoctrinated.
All that said, STEM has been infected as well. It's not as bad as the humanities, sure, but it will be within the decade unless something changes.

I tell people until Im blue in the face - our alma maters aren't what they were 20+ years ago and the college decision is way more important for our kids than it used to be.

Unfortunately academia is infested with this arse-backwards cultural Marxism.
Even though Obama’s army of activists can be found under every nook and cranny it seems nowdays (and ruining everything they bore into), campuses across the nation are where this mind rotting disease took strongest root first even before Barry appeared in front of the faux Greek columns.
