According to St. Malachy, he's the last pope. Possibly.

Is this the only comment you can come up with? All the anti-Christian dissenters are like broken records. It's so cliche.

You are so clever.

You either don't know what the words "idol" or "worship" mean or you're just being an a-hole.

He's playing the long game. He knows the ultimate fate of the gays, once the "revolution" is over. Everything he does is to make Latin America more receptive to communism, but he also knows that Latin machismo doesn't tolerate the gay agenda. It's only a short phase of subversion anyway.

We think anyway, it can't be proven he did not technically.

Why can't they just be happy with civil unions, social and financial recognition and quit trying to push religions around?...

And I was taught to believe that Peter was the spokesman for the apostles.

Well, then whoever taught you that left out the part where Jesus laid the authority for leading his Church on Peter. Leading includes speaking on behalf of the authority that conveyed the authority. Was Peter flawed? Absolutely. But nonetheless, God chose Peter to lead His Church. Like I said Peter's obvious shortcomings only gives evidence of a higher power at work here. After all God's power is made manifest in weakness. Maybe that's why the world hates God so much since He (God) had the audacity to choose a redneck, calloused, uneducated fisherman to lead His Church on earth.

But maybe I should let Matthew explain it.......

"And I tell thee this in my turn, that thou art Peter, and it is upon this rock that I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, and I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." - Matthew 16:18-19

A suggestion please. Pick up your Bible and read it daily, especially Matthew. Start slowly. Matthew doesn't pull any punches.

Verum, quid est quod? - Pontius Pilatus

I read my Bible daily; indeed, I learn something new each time.

I dispute nothing you said.
Again, those are the words of man.
As I said, the Bible tells us Peter was certainly in Jesus’s inner circle

Just read The Nicene Creed and then post the part(s) you take exception to.

We're used to the Catholic church taking positions. We're just not used to them actually doing anything.

This might be coming. There has been some chatter the usccb will start discussions on how to deal with Catholic politicians who are in outright opposition to the church's teachings. Denying the Eucharist to such politicians would be on the table.

God blesses people and blessings comes to people in many situations. Even those living in sin whatever that may be.

God does not bless sin. Ask Adam and Eve. God said do not eat of the forbidden fruit. They ate it and were escorted out of the Garden of Eden and God said you will toil to eat.

In the Garden of Eden they had it made. They did not have to work to eat. Everything was there, no sin, no disease, no death. Adam and Eve screwed it up for all of us. Can we get reparations?

I loathe when humans “speak” for God.

And yet Christ gave His apostles the ability to do just that in St. Matthew’s gospel when He gave them the power to bind and loose doctrine. This authority has been passed on into the present day through a process known as Apostolic Succession.

Every single bishop in the Catholic and Orthodox Church can trace their spiritual lineage back to an Apostle.
