Murder of the defenseless is not a constitutional right.

That makes no sense

One crime justifies another?

Women who are raped have every right to immediately contact police and have a rape exam. During this exam they can even take the morning after pill to prevent pregnancy. Hell, did you know that in Louisiana a woman can go to any clinic or hospital, claim she was sexually assaulted and receive free healthcare without even having to notify law enforcement therefore protecting herself from possible retribution. There is absolutely no reason to wait until you find out you are pregnant to claim rape. This is usually bullshi#%.

I am anti-abortion. But removing the exception for rape and incest was a big mistake. Most fair minded people in this country are going to have a problem with that, and this is going to color the whole debate over this (and probably the ensuing litigation). Practically speaking, they could have accomplished the same thing by leaving those exceptions in.

How can you distinguish which life is acceptable and which isn't. The question is, if you consider the fetus to be alive than you can't murder it no matter what. Only exception iso self defense (life of the mother). Yes, it royally sucks but rape and incest pregnancies are very rare and shouldn't be listed as exceptions for a multitude of reasons. At least Alabama lawmakers are showing some respect for life.

The law is supported by %18 of America

It will be laughed out of the courts

I don't really care either way about abortion, but the law as it is written in Alabama is just another embarrassment for the state

Let's of rape victims suffer from mental trauma which can cause them to not come forward immediately especially if the rapist is a loved one. And it may take weeks before they even know they are pregnant

Your comment demonstrates that you have no idea what is really going on here.... this law was designed to challenge and likely will overturn Roe v Wade.... I believe the Supreme Court will cede the abortion issue to the individual states

Also states rights huh? So why does it criminalize women who go out of state to get abortions?

If the Supreme Court cedes their Authority back to the States on this issue... They have effectively overturned Roe... Roe is a poorly reasoned legal decision that focuses primarily on the doctors right to practice medicine rather than a woman's right to an abortion
