Lebron is very disliked across the country. I definitely think he's part of the reason for decreased ratings.

I have been avoiding it both because it has been politically commandeered by stupidity, and it’s also a lot more boring now that athleticism around the rim has seemingly taken a back seat.

I watched most of the Pelicans games this season. I almost never watch a random regular season game not involving them though. I'll usually catch a handful of playoff games, mainly during the finals.

The problem is that it's not entirely correct.
What's incorrect about it? That these aren't Chinese workers (regardless of inference), they're Vietnamese.
The other thing incorrect is that they don't make .20/hour, they make anywhere from .61 to .89 per hour. That wage, of course, depends on if they are working a mere 40 hours per week or up to 60 hours per week.
The rest is close enough to not be worth quibbling over.
Way to fight oppression, Lebron.

A lot of people were tuning out before all this woke crap. Once all the top players started coming together to form super teams people stoped watching. It got to the point there were only 4-5 good teams. Even guys like Barkley admit this. Really is a shame. I loved the NBA growing up as a kid in the 90’s. Me and my dad never missed a Magic home game. But I can honestly say I haven’t paid attention to it in nearly a decade. Thanks Lebron.

Latest figures I saw regarding china was 2019 and that was before they took some bashing from chini for comments made about the country and NBA. Then the chini market was 10% of revenues, 25% of revenues overall is a huge hit for them.
And given the fact that the NBA is very fixed cost driven, a drop of 25% in revenues means a far greater drop in profits.
And those big TV contracts, the media houses are not dumb. The revenues of those contracts are tiered at viewership, they are not guaranteed.
So yes, they are some hurting puppies, and I believe the year before they had a drop as well, so the 2 year roll is about 33%, thats scary bad.

I definitely will not watch now, knowing the millionaire players want me and my family dead. I used to watch it because I could see players like Jordan and Olajuwon do things I couldn't do. But shooting 3 pointers all the time is not that entertaining.
