Not like they were being subtle about Star Wars. They literaly burnt down the last remaining vestiges of the Jedi in the movie.

I just dont get modern pop culture. I guess its not uncommon, most of my grandkids seem to like older stuff too.

They made Thor who is one of the strongest characters in all of the movies look like a bumbling idiot who took a backseat to 2 strong female leads.
I’m not exactly their target audience but I thought the ragnarok Thor movie was one of the more entertaining comic book movies I’ve seen. Simple formula and it wasn’t Godfather II, but it was entertaining and that’s all I ask of a movie. They know HOW to do it, they just choose not to.

When The Force Awakens came out no one cared the lead was a woman. They were all on board. However the character and story was shite. They destroyed Luke who was the center piece of 3 of the movies with zero perspective on who their audience was while "forcing" characters and storylines based a narrative they wanted to portray.

Was that the one where some girl goes from not knowing she even has the force to dueling with some master bad-arse in a very short time period?

Yep. Every woman in Star Wars is automatically a master just by picking up a laser sword.

It’s so amazing to me that their board isn’t going ape shite.
Make some family friendly princess movies with some catchy songs. Market the shite out of it. Make it as non woke, non divisive, and universally appealing as possible. Make them full of things little kids will laugh at.
You can even have the historic messages of “be kind to others” or it’s “ok to be different” lambasted throughout.
Then market toys, rides, clothes with all these new popular characters.
Go back to printing money when parents see you don’t have an agenda anymore.
My kids have loved migration, minions, Mario, etc. they haven’t asked to watch one of these new lame arse Disney movies since turning red which they stopped watching.

Just wait until they finally introduce the X-Men and it's mainly focused on the female characters.

It was an objectively bad movie and a huge cash grab.
I didn’t think it was that bad for a kids movie.
I loved Bowser.

Their movies are losing money. Their profits are shrinking. They are in decline. And it's Iger's fault. The board is failing in its duties.
Their movies are just one small part of their profits though. They have the theme parks, cruises, merch, tv shows, etc etc

Woke content isn’t appealing

Al impacted by their underhanded indoctrination of children. They are destroying their brand.

Are they though?
I have young kids and they still love Marvel and Disney.
I taught third grade when Encanto came out and the whole class was obsessed.
I haven’t been tracking their overall profits though, so it’s possible they aren’t making as much across the board.

You don’t think the fact that they’re more concerned about making woke movies instead of focusing on story development is a factor in their movies becoming less appealing?
I think you’re being obtuse
Your logic is analogous to someone saying they don’t like salt and then wondering why they don’t like the meal you prepared for them containing a gallon of salt. Some reason the meal is less appealing.

Well today their stock is around $90 a share (which is actually a bounce over last month or so.) whereas their stock price was around $160 about 2 years ago.

Toad: "I've never met you before but we're now best friends forever!"
Peach: "I've never met you before, but you are an integral part of my war efforts!"
Runtime was an hour and a half. That's a little on the short end, even for kid movies. 10 minutes on characterization would have gone a long way. Nintendo has the cash to do it right.

Yep but Mario was one of the highest grossing movies last year if I’m not mistaken. I think that would demonstrate people are still willing to go see a children’s movie if the kids are entertained.

Same reason liberal cities are bleeding residents- liberal policies aren't appealing to taxpaying citizens
