In honesty, I'm torn, but leaning toward retaliation. We have to either hit Iran hard, or completely withdraw from the region. Simply leaving our personnel exposed to Iranian attacks is NOT an option. If we do decide to retaliate, it doesn't need to be proportionate. The response needs to be decidedly DISPROPORTIONATE. OTOH, if Biden said "You know what? We have no strategic interests in that region significant enough to risk the lives of American personnel. We're out." I still wouldn't vote for that idiot or any other Democrat, but I wouldn't necessarily be pissed either.

I think there's damn few places in the world worth getting 19-20 year old American men killed over, but running scared because someone might "hate" us is not the reason to restrain from using force. There are other, more rational reasons to justify not using armed force.

Respond with force. Not to start a war but to take a step toward peace and stability. Biden's fecklessness has emboldened Iran. A significantly disproportionate strike is required.

I remember when Clinton ordered several Tomahawks to strike some shacks and abandoned training centers in Afghanistan in retaliation for the Cole and African embassy bombings 25 years ago.

It's crazy how ingrained China's rise is in the American psyche. They're in demographic collapse and are experiencing a slow economic death spiral and we still have the uneducated believing that they're still an up-and-coming superpower. They peaked over a decade ago and are on the downhill slide.

A long term solution for Iran? I won't pretend to know the answer.
But these half-assed, cursory missile strikes have never worked, and it won't work this time either. It will only increase the problem.
