Goes to show this is intentional destruction. There is no logic or reason behind doing that

Or two. These people are our enemy. There are other places to get cheap labor.

At what point is it a good idea to begin disentangling our economy from China's?

You answered your own question.

In a sane world, our political leaders would have looked at the shortages due to shipping from China during COVID and began working on economic plans to spur manufacturing growth here. Instead, they bemoaned the death of a violent, drug-addicted felon and cried about mean tweets.

Serves us right for depending on that shithole.

And of course out Potato in Chief does nothing to combat this.

Things that make you go hmmm…
Is China behind the cyber attacks (fire, explosions)on food processing facilities?
Is China behind an ongoing effort to basically cut off goods/shipping to the USA?
Is China undertaking measures to weaken the USA for possible physical take over?

The clear solution is to tell China to frick off and build our cheap shite in India and central America.

Think most ports broke all their records in March. While we are getting caught up on some things..other things are way over stocked and people have stopped buying.

In the end, these large high/low surges over small windows may be the economics of the future. Especially if sourcing continues to be world wide and shifts aren’t made from in time demand.

Meanwhile, everybody wants their Amazon delivered the same day.

IMO…the pain would be worth it if we can decouple our economy from China’s.

Maybe we could make that stuff here and not need their ports.

It was the way that Trump was moving us but he had to be stopped. Mean tweets and such.

We should leave some production there, but should cut it in half. Spread that half around other places in asia. Latin america and mexico if possible, and a small part of it bring back here.

This would be better, but LA is getting bad. Chile just ruined decades of hard work putting in a Socialist. Colombia, probably our best ally in the region, may put in a Socialist in their May elections. The whole region is moving towards a Venezuelan paradise. Brazil was looking like it could have had a chance under Trump, but not anymore.

And of course Chyna has had their hands in it. Thanks to Obama/Biden/Kerry not defending the Monroe Doctrine.

There just isn't any other place like America right now that maybe can be trusted to keep up with our product demand. We definitely need to figure out a way to stop having California as the gatekeeper for a large part of our products. They are just to looney to depend on year after year. California loons have way to much power that trickles thru the nation.
