Which is of course EXACTLY what the "models" you reference are.
No. They aren't. They use something called " physics " to evolve the system on a multidimensional mesh. That's not fitting data.

I don't think you are using the same definition of 'initial' that the rest of us use.

The point is that it isn't economically damaging.

OK. So if the government allows me to pollute for free - the pollution causes no economic damage. Got it.

Consumers aren't going to buy damaging products

They are.

Even though those example hold very little economic benefit, they have moved entire markets. No taxes required. Just consumer demand.

Clearly not the case with the carbon market. Thanks for making an argument that holds no basis in reality.

BTW - you know what is in reality? The fact that consumers and companies alike are primarily motivated by one thing. Can you guess what it is?

. But you have no claim to CH4+O2 as your property because it turns into CO2.

You actually think the atmosphere is the private property of the oil and gas companies, don't you?

LSURussian - does the article you linked to talk about the Antarctic ice sheet - or the Antarctic sea ice?

So glaciers have never melted before?

No...never. That's why there is a mile thick sheet of ice over Chicago.

Wait, what...? I am just learning that, in fact, there is no longer a mile thick sheet of ice over Chicago and hasn't been for about 10,000 years.

In other news, apparently, there were SUVs 10,134 years ago.

Really? So hydrodynamics isn't physics anymore? I seemed to think it was.

So you're saying that both DUDX and SDPU =0 ???? Well why the Frick didn't you say so before?? That changes everything !

No. You don't. You have continued to fail to address (or comprehend) that consumers won't continually buy products that economically damage themselves over the long term. If no one buys a product--even FREE is unprofitable.

Clearly not the case with the carbon market.
Clearly it is. Solar and wind are an ever increasing share, despite non-parity costs.

It's economics. Thanks for proving my point.

nice try at erecting a strawman. No one owns the atmosphere. Not even the government.

Ahh. So you're just A-OK with our common property rights being violated on a daily basis.

Not even the government.

Government doesn't own all the water on Earth either but if the rancher upstream from you is taking more water for his cattle than he has a right to, guess who stops him?

DUDX is a derivative - du/dx.

Not sure about SDPU. Maybe entropy.

We can probably look in the paper and see the equations in plain mathlish.

These old FORTRAN codes are hard to read. Ask CptBengal, he's an expert on everything.

Whose been "violatesd"?

Basic property law. You have to demonstrate financial damages to be entitled to compensation.

I'd argue that the upside of having electricity, plastic, modern medicine, electronics, is by far a net benefit even if the hyperbolic doomsday predictions occur.

So overstepped Government bounds means do it more? Great argument you have there.

Secondly, how does one determine how much he "has a right to"?

Actually most academics so use Fortran for large models.

In fact there are several astrophysicist professors at lsu who use Fortran.

Fail. Fake PhD
