I sat on a jury while a student at LSU, circa 1993, maybe. Defendant was a black male - 4 charges - sexual assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, kidnapping, and armed robbery. Victim was black female.

I think we only needed a super majority to convict, something like 10 of 12. Trial lasted about 3 hours and it was extremely one sided. Victim even testified. Very mixed jury of race, age, and sex. Jury went 10-2 guilty with the 2 non guilty being black females. During deliberations, it became clear to me they were going to vote not guilty but not because on racial lines but because they didn't want to be responsible for convicting someone. I learned a LOT about human behavior, stereotyping, etc for those few hours in the jury room that still have impact on how I deal with different groups (sex, race, etc) even today in business.

Why do you think defense attorneys in NOLA wanted unanimous Jury verdicts, along with whacked out leftist commie "destroy the prison industrial complex" and "New Jim Crow" activist whackos?

It would be very difficult to get a NOLA or BR jury to unanimously convict a black offender... especially if they murdered or harmed a white person. 95% of blacks see everything through the lens of race and their supposed victimhood.

Well, p4 policemen had just been acquitted of the Rodney King beating despite video evidence.

Also, like it or not.. lots of blacks prior to that trial had been disadvantaged by police and court system.

Not saying I agree or wouldn’t convict you, but I’d understand and depending on what was done, I may believe you shouldn’t face a harsh sentence, but if you’re brother gets murdered by a bunch of black thugs I 100% get wanting to get those guys personally

There was a mob outside that courthouse that was ready to burn LA to the ground 3 short years after Rodney King if that jury didn’t deliver the “right” verdict.

The funny thing? Color aside, OJ had about as much in common with that mob as you or I do.
