In the interest of accuracy that's my take, and that's why I provided the link. I think the question was something about "overturning the results", but that doesn't make it any better. They didn't want to overturn the results because of violence, not the truth. So they had no motivation to find the truth, and they were actually scared of what they might find. Better to just ignore it and hope it goes away.
