Its called consequence. Way different than cancel culture. But I don't expect any of you slightly left moderates to be smart enough to figure that out.

YOu havent said a damn thing about them.

Yes I did, I said it’s irrelevant if they were or weren’t. People can be and are sh!t, happens all the time and I guarantee you every one of us has opinions that someone somewhere is offended over. If we fall into the trap of “well their employer needs to know they said this” trap we slide quickly into a dystopian society of having to be on guard at all times because who knows who might hear ala the USSR

It feels really good, but it's rationalization. When folks on the right were being cancelled for things done in real time, it was cancel culture. As much as the left wanted to say it was consequences, it wasn't. It was waiting for someone to say something slightly wrong so they could get them out of the public eye so they could further their agenda.

I actually agree with you here. If the current administration pressured to FCC to pressure networks into cancelling Kimmel's show, I disagree with that approach. If the networks did this on their own because they were concerned that Kimmel was ostracizing too many viewers, I think it's just a business making a business decision.

But you lost me here:

There is an admin hell-bent on stripping your freedoms and they don't give a shite about party.

Which freedoms are they hell-bent on stripping? Be specific.

If you cant understand this, there is no way you will have the cognitive ability to discuss the rest of this.

Couple of things.

1. Society didn't cancel Kimmel, etc. Their employers did.

2. Carlin was a piece of shite who hated white people and cheered what he called the 'moslemization' of Europe. So frick him.

Free speech means Jimmy Kimmel is free to say whatever he wants.

Free speech also means ABC is free to decide to not air it.

I’m sorry you can’t comprehend this.

People like to think that Carlin would be libertarian about today's standard, but they are fooling themselves to think he'd be anything different than Colbert, Kimmel, and Meyers.

He would be the exact same slave to the left.

I think he'd be more like Bill Maher, who does his fair share of completely mocking the modern left, despite being on that side.

Carlin would have been canceled for saying the wrong things. Lol at anyone who thinks he would have been some leftist warrior. MFer didn’t even vote

Contempt for voting: Carlin didn't vote and scoffed at the idea that citizens had a meaningful say in the political process. In his view, the quality of politicians was merely a reflection of a selfish and ignorant populace.

Planet will be fine: He argued that the planet is not in danger from humans and will eventually "shake us off like a bad case of fleas". He believed that the Earth, having survived massive geological and cosmic events, would eventually heal itself.

Self-serving environmentalists: He accused "white, bourgeois liberals" of focusing on superficial issues like bicycle paths while their real concern was their own comfort and a "clean place to live".

Placing blame on humans, not the planet: In Carlin's view, there was nothing wrong with the planet itself. The problem was with humanity, which he saw as a "failed mutation" and an "evolutionary cul-de-sac".

The two largest network affliliates decided that they'd stop airing his show.

His ratings were not high enough to overcome that.

This is about $$$, not Kimmel's intentionally inaccurate rhetoric and lack of humor. Although his intentionally inaccurate rhetoric and lack of humor is probably why his ratings were so low to begin with so I guess it is about his inaccurate rhetoric and lack of humor.

Carlin would be roasting Trump like most comics are.

Trump is the steeple of the crooked establishment.

Don Jr's stock PEW is down 75% in just six months....do I buy?

Show us proof that the President forced the hand and got that piece of shite Kimmel fired. Show us proof. Show us a text, a document, an email, fricking something.

You don't have shite. Like a true liberal, you have feelings.

Because in a few weeks when Tulsi is declassifying more documents showing massive PROOF of corruption and lawfare from the previous regimes, you will keep your fricking head buried in the sand.

And when this regime starts going after Soros NGO's and all of these financers of dissention with PROOF, you will cry some bullshite liberal narrative that is programming you.

When the media gaslights you and is telling you that the first "extreme right MAGA" queer that was fricking his gay boyfriend pretending to be a stuffed animal that thought he was a woman because they are both insane in history ALSO happens to be the person that shot Charlie Kirk, you will believe it. 8% of democrats believe Robinson was a liberal, and that's pretty asinine.

And when you fricking morons have total control over everything we see what you do. We saw the gaslighting with Covid. Both of my Grandparents passed away during Covid and not only could none of the grandchildren see them, my Dad couldn't tell his own father goodbye. For some frickin bullshite. And liberals wanted to put me in a camp for not getting vaxxed, and would have if the powers that be would have allowed it, saved by the 2A. "But no one forced you to take the vax!". Only you can't work for the government, the military, the education system, the medical field, etc. You can't go to ballgames, must wear a mask to enter a grocery store, must wear a mask to enter a restaurant but can take it off when you get to your table, (gotta take a piss, put it back on). Can't be with grandparents who are now isolated completely. We fricking saw true fascism during Covid.

This has nothing to do with free speech. This has to do with at least 60-70% of the country being appalled that Kimmel would say some stupid gaslighting shite that was so obviously a lie and vindictive. I think people are tired of being lied to.

And when ratings have already been in the absolute shitter for fricking years with these liberal cesspool shows and that corrupt money behind the scenes get's cut and they have to stand on their own merit and not propped up as a government smear campaign disguised as a 24 hr news cycle, they will start making business decisions. When they get pressure from enough sponsors, they will make business decisions.

Kimmel was a business decision.

Where is the Double Standard? Jimmy Kimmel is a douche, If ABC wants to fire him go ahead. If anyone is happy because he is a douche what is wrong with that. Also his ratings sucked ABC just used this as an excuse.

How is this any different than Fox firing Carlson?

People get fired all the time, not a free speech issue.

I prefer free speech.
If we keep heading down this Cancel Culture path we will turn into England where people are getting arresting for posting memes.
People are too sensitive today.
OMG someone said something I don't like, let's make them go viral & get them fired.
It's childish Low IQ behavior
